Sold my 2016 JKURHR today

I couldn't depend on it because of an electrical gremlin and after 2 years and over 200 combined days in the shop I said "F" It and sent the bitch down the road.
I replaced it with this beauty

Looks great. Saw my first one in the wild today. We had a local Jeep run for at home food for kids. They were trying to get to 100 Jeeps, as of Thursday they had 131, today I heard two numbers , 159 pre registerd, and final including last minute drive ups midway through the registration window was 161.

The agency handling the food distribution came with a 12" tandem axle trailer behind a Yukon XL, and as it left the rear of the Yukon was down low.

Our local dealer came with a Gladiator from his lot. A Rubicon in all white. I don't know what the top color is since it and the doors were off. It got a lot of attention.

A two door Gladiator would have less market appeal than a standard cab pickup truck. How many of those have you seen on a dealer's lot recently.

Some years ago a friend opined that once you go from a standard cab to an extended cab, you will never want to go back. Once you go from and extended cab to a four door cab, you will never want to go back.

I've owned them all and use an 8' bed way more than the rear seats in my current 4-door 4x4 3500.

My Jeep is 2-door because we already have a station wagon (4-wd Highlander)

Congrats on the new one.

But,, 200 days in the shop and no lemon law?? Did the 200 days affect the value of the 16??

I'm waiting for the "I just bought a 2016 JKURHR and I am having all these electrical problems" thread to appear here.

I bought it used. Now I know why he traded it in. Lemon law only works with original buyer.

The funny thing is the time in the dealer when I had it didn't show up on the car fax. The last item was me buying it. Of course I didn't mention all that time.

That's sad. You did all the right things and got burnt.

Electrical problems aren't rocket surgery. If I'm sitting in front of a dealer's test equipment, including the full on-line tech manual, and spare part pile it might take me 8-hours on the WORST thing you could every reasonable have happen to the electrical system.

One-in-a-million is what you rolled to get bitten. Sorry.

Not for me. Went from a Ram Crew Cab to a Ram single cab short bed R/T. Loved the single cab waaaay better than the crew. Now I have a JK.

If they do the J6 or something similar I’d be all over it!!!

Except everytime someone mentions it, loads of people agree.

I'd buy a 2dr JT. I'd never buy the limosine length 4dr JT.

I fear that the JT is going to have a very narrow market. If it's going after the Tacoma market the Ranger and Colorado are all ready there. It will have much more off road ability than any 1/2 ton 4x4 but cost as much and not be as good on the highway or for towing. It's just cool.

Pretty cool but damn that thing is long, nearly 3 ft longer than a JKU and 4.5 ft longer than a JK. I'd agree a 2 door version that chopped a couple feet of length off and got it closer to a 4 door Wrangler length would be cool. I think it would do a lot better than other 2 door pickups just because it's a Jeep, and a shorter length would make it even better off road which is of course a major selling point of a Jeep.

The length of the JT is the problem for me. Also unless its loaded up with Overland equipment and 37's at a minimum then to me it looks weird. I can see the appeal for others though.

A 2-door would be incredible, off road and done up as a camping rig. They just look so damned cool as a single cab, short wheel base sporty as hell, and easily done up for camping.

Longer and heavier and rated to tow and haul more than a JLUR but has the same engine and trans.

Post a pic of the frame welds when you get the chance.

congrats looks good. I got behind a billet JT rubicon yesterday that was headed to Goodwill. he had about 4 bags of stuff in the back and turned into Goodwill. I was first vehicle behind him for about 2 miles and at least 3 red lights. Couple things that stood out to me is his rear bumper seemed like it would have good departure clearance. His spare tire not quite so much but not terrible. I think with a 2" lift you could easily run 37's and do pretty darn good offroad as long as it was not in the tight stuff. Most Moab trails should be fine.

The other thing which I guess was not as positive was the bed is small interior wise as the there were 4 lawn bags of what I presume was clothing in the back and it pretty much filled it up and the tailgate did not look as good as it could have from directly behind it.

Would I have traded him straight across for my 2018 Recon that is pretty decently built? Yup, In a New York minute...Yet I am not even a little tempted to go talk to a dealer about making a deal as I would not be willing to pay even a $5000 difference at this point and it would be much more than that..
