Spare Tire Size

Had new tires and rims put on a couple weeks ago and think I'd like to upgrade the 5th one as well. Will a 285/70R17 fit on the stock spare tire carrier?

Thanks,
Brian

Yeah you wont have any issues fitting that tire on the stock spare carrier.

The spare on jeeps is a functional spare meaning it needs to match the other 4 and you need to work it into your tire rotations so the tread will were evenly across all 5.

Again. That's just my opinions.

Your good to go. just throw in some daystar bumpstops to minimize fatigue, and put some sort of visible lock to prevent thieves.

That's what I have. Due to the backspacing on my wheels, I did have to add new Daystar Bumpstops.

@Whayes at least your bumstops are seated properly. Mine didn't go in the hole all the way (no pun intended). I have to lube it up and try to fit it in when i have time (again no pun intended)

It was a real struggle. I ended up using a flat head screwdriver to push on the threaded part while I twisted with the other hand. Might use some tape on the screw driver or the tailgate to minimize scratching in the event you slip. I didn't do that
