What are the pros and cons of these lug nuts? Also looking for the McGard Acorns in a set of 23 without the wheel locks........looks like all the sets have 5 wheel locks

It’s really going to come down to your wheel. Both would work as long as there’s enough room to get a socket on. I like the Gorilla spline kits for the money. Also have used McGard and they have great CS and excellent quality made in USA product if that matters to you.

I have used both and prefer the mcgard acorn lug nuts. I had the Gorilla splines and while they work great I always worried that the splined lug socket would fail. I have seen one crack so I ended up swapping to the Mcgard acorn nuts.

I'm not looking for spline lug nuts but presently do have them on my jeep. I keep my spline socket in the glove box, so that is never an issue with me. That being said.......I'll bet every AAA truck has a spline socket on their truck. And if you are smart enough, one would think you tell AAA that a spline socket is needed

Surely all the splines aren't the same pattern. Me, I keep my McCard key in the Jeep. Otherwise, it would be useless when needed on the road. The tech at my tire dealer knows where it is as well, since he no longer has to ask me for it when he works on my tires.

We all know they only keep the honest people from removing the wheels. A professional thief might be slowed down a few seconds, but he's going to get the wheels, if not the entire Jeep.

They installed splines when I got new wheels. The cheesy tool that showed up in the glove box split when I started a five wheel change. Jumped in the Subie to a local auto store to get a new one and then quickly ordered replacement acorns. Waited a couple days but am very happy now that those dang splines are gone.
