I use vice grips or channel lock pliers. A good local auto parts store should have a set of spring clamp pliers. HF would also have the cheapo version. Its a basic tool, so shouldn't make much difference.
I have the Gearwrench kit with different tips. Works pretty good even has the cable clamp. Which is great if you can’t get a straight shot at the clamp.
Honestly, wish I would have bought these years ago. Spent way to much time trying to use needle nose pliers / vice grips and scratching up my hands in the process. This tool makes it super easy to slide those spring clamps on and off, plus it will lock engaged too.
