Steel bumper front license plate holder

I actually got a ticket for no front plate while the Jeep was parked. Really? Lovely Rita Meter Maid has nothing better to do? Welcome to Santa Barbara!

I have a new to me 2013 JK Moab Edition with a steel bumper and a Warn winch. I'm considering the Maximus-3 low mount license plate bracket. Can anyone tell me how that mounts? What is the distance between the mounting holes? My skidplate has two bolts 14" apart. Can I use those to mount the Maximus? Any other ideas for a tidy front mount plate are also welcome.

I got that ticket a few months ago. I have a Warn steel number, I simply put in two 1/4-20 nutserts in the bumper and fastened the plate directly to the bumper.

My plate is attached to my roller fairlead via Maglite clips. Stays on, cops leave me alone, and I kinda like how it looks.

Was it a fix it or fine? I got no ft plate yet. Good to see the crime rate is so low here in so cal cities the cops have nothing to do.

I just installed a set of 10A bumpers on my 08.. I bought the Maximus low mount bracket, but haven't bolted it on yet... tempting fate, I guess...

The bracket has 3 holes that match the center 3 bolts between the bumper and the steel skid plate; easy install... don't know about other bumpers, as this bracket is supposed to be for the 10A/HR bumper...

I'll go get a couple pics and edit this post a little later...

My plate is pinched between the fairlead and bumper. No issues so far.

Here is mine mounted to the 10A/75A. The outer bolts are 12 inches apart.

I'm looking for a solution as well. I like the shackle mount bracket.

Fixit ticket. I have to get the DMV or a law enforcement agency to sign off on the fix, and then pay a $10 administration fee.

Thanks for measuring and posting the pic. My bumper and skid plate are a bit different. Where you have 3 bolts, I only have 2, and they're 14" apart.

I did the same thing as post #3; easy to fabricate, I just used pop rivets to attach the license plate to a square of galvanized steel, then used pop rivets to attach the mag lite clips (which you can find in most good hardware stores) to the bracket.
The problem with this approach is that someone can easily take the license plate unless you secure it somehow (I lost one to a thief); I used a length of 1/8" cable from one corner of the plate to a bolt on the bumper.

Thanks to USMCMike (& thanks for your service!!), I realized I had my bracket upside down...

Flipped the bracket over, and bolted on the plate... HATE the damn thing!! I'm gonna pull it, and run 'til I get stopped...
btw, every effing C-4 and later Corvette in the state is running front-plateless...

My Hyline front bumper came with holes pre-drilled on the front to attach the license plate. Nice touch, but the holes aren't quite deep enough even though I have the same "Jeep" license plate frame as above.

I was concerned about the plate rattling but if it is I can't hear it. I should probably look around for some shorter screws someday.

I use the Smittybilt 4432 License Plate Mount Bracket for Roller Fairlead. It's around 35 CDN. For security I just attached a small steel cable to one of the bolts on the back of it and around the winch plate. You'd have to yank pretty hard to get it off.. or carry pliers I guess. I like it and it's easy to remove when you need to use the winch.

I have the Steel Armadillo flip up license plate holder. Mounts to the fairlead and works well too.

To get my fixit ticket signed off, as a temporary fix, I attached the front plate with some quarter-inch carriage bolts and a few nuts. It covered the fairlead, but my winch currently doesn't have a rope so I didn't care.

Today, I just installed the Tuffy Flip-Up bracket from Quadratec. For $16 it's a great bargain and seems to work really well. It attaches to the bumper using the same bolts that hold the fairlead on. Small bolts with nylock nuts allow the license plate to move up out of the way of the fairlead for when you use the winch. Not sure if it will be a PITA if the nylock nuts loosen up in any real-world winching scenario, but I'm happy for now, and it looks good for mall-cruising.
