Swaybar disconnect question

Swaybar disconnect why do you have to disconnect both sides? I have a ski-Doo with factory manual disconnects, you only have to disconnect one side!! So why does TeraFlex and others make you disconnect both sides? Once one side is disconnected the entire swaybar is disconnected. Also keeping once I connected would keep the bar out of the way no?

Have you looked at your Jeep swaybar and links?

Disconnecting one side does not completely disconnect the bar, it disconnects half.

Disconnecting one side would essentially be the same as disconnecting both

Discoed but not good.

I'll say I wouldn't recommend it and leave it at that.

I have a good buddy who was a tech writer for all offroad magazines back in the day and still has tech people call him for advice says you only need to disconnect one side. he proved it to me on the rti ramp. I suppose if you twist the sway bar enough it might get tweaked a little I don't know. I know for a while I was just disco one side.

My guess is that it's just so you can get the sway bar up out of the way. With one side still connected, the disconnected side will do whatever the connected side does, and I guess it could end up having clearance issues with the tire or wheel in certain situations.

I've seeing it done twice, you can disconnect one side if you wanted, just make sure nothing will rub in either side, and that you secure the side that is disconnected so the sway bar won't move. if your bushings are new, the bar won't move, but it doesn't take a lot of force to move it, so secure the bar down using one of the links, just as you will do if you were disconnecting both sides.
