Teraflex Heavy Duty Hinge Carrier

Ever since I had the bigger tires put on the Jeep, the spare has been rattling something awful. I asked the shop that did it if it was too much weight for the factory mount, and they said it was fine. But the stuff I read online said otherwise.

So today I put on a Teraflex Heavy Duty Hinge Carrier and a new mount. The rattling stopped. Also, the shop had put an extension on my factory mount and the wheel/tire was about 10” behind my tailgate. This one is snug to the tailgate and I can definitely feel a difference in the handling. Money well spent!

It is cheap insurance to upgrade the hinge and carrier when going to larger/heavier wheels and tires...much better than popping welds inside the tailgate, or seeing your spare disappear from the rear view mirror when driving down a rough road.

I've used the TF Hinges on all my builds. Never a squeak or a rattle. Money well spent for you.

I just finished mine, I went to local auto parts store (not a chain) and they pressed the three studs in for free in a couple minutes. Worth the phone call.

I just used a lug nut and lug wrench to pull them in. Super easy.
