I really liked the 4x4 commercial except for including the Renegade in it. Ducking and running...

Did anyone else notice that the whole commercial was still photography EXCEPT the tear running down the girls face? 46 seconds.

Also loved the Jeep wave in the second commercial. I made a comment about it at the party I was at buy no one else seemed to get it. Not Jeep people.

I still think it is weird that they focused on the Jeep's military history when the Jeep was developed, as least partly, to combat that Italians that now own Jeep.

I'd feel better about that ad if Jeep was still an American car company.

Times change, and there is nothing wrong with honoring the past even if you aren't happy with the present way things are going. Give it a few more years and Jeep will be sold to someone else.

"We don't make Jeep. You do."

Starting with the headlights.

Why do they sell Jeeps with tires/wheels on them?

They had a Grand Cherokee in the portraits commercial which wouldn't have been possible without the XJ kickin a$$ and taking names....I feel that Jeep gave a nod to the Cherokee lineup as well.

I'm a Wrangler fan but I got to admit the xj was and still is a a fun vehicle to drive off road. I have owned two and my first one had 290,000 miles on the inline 6 and the guy I sold it to has put another 150,000 miles on it. Only thing I ever done to it was change the oil l, alternator, timing belt, spark plugs. It set stock and I could go pretty much anywhere in it. They are also cheap to build. For about $1500 you can get a very capable off road machine.

But I do love my JK.

The TrailWeasel, excuse me TrailHawk isn't part of the Jeep Fraternity my friend. After having 3 JKs and then making the mistake of buying a TrailWeasel, I can tell you it isnt in the same class as a JK on or off road.

It's a poor excuse of a CUV with a dangerous transaxle that a 3 year old could have picked better shift points for.

Back on topic. Commercials we're great and I enjoyed the Jeep wave most of all.

Yeah - I turned to the hubby and said - "See, the Jeep wave. I am not the only one!" Though in the midwest you hit a gravel road around here and we all wave, all of the time. Not too much of a stretch.

Loved the Jeep wave in the 4x4 commercial. Though around here I've very rarely gotten one back, maybe 2 or 3 times total.

Thought the commercials did a good job showing the history of the vehicles and the fun you can have with one.

I don't mind a Cherokee, but a renegade, no thanks. Pretty sure fiat tried to make one of their fiats into a a car that can go over a pebble. Drove a Jeep Compass for a week on vacation, not a big fan, actually wasn't awful except the severely underpowered engine. Didn't do well driving highways through the mountain. Done much worse roads with a Toyota RAV4 and it way out performed the compass. Not a fan of the look of the Liberty or commander, although I've never driven one.

I noticed since the Super Bowl ad, more fellow Wrangler owners are waving back!

Maybe the many times another Wrangler didn't wave back was partly because s/he didn't know how it's done...?

For the reported $20M the ad cost, those few seconds may be the most expensive etiquette lesson in the history of all humanity.

I owned a liberty and a commander. I had a 2004 liberty renegade and as crazy as it may seem that thing was very capable in off road situations. I never lifted it or anything, but I could go through mud of sand like nobodies business.

Honestly the Wrangler is the first thing I drove that made me forget about my 2006 commander unlimited. That thing was a beast, it had the 5.7 Hemi and would pull anything, go anywhere I wanted it to. Now does it come close to my wrangler, No. But both things I listed above are examples of decently built jeep products that where very capable vehicles. They ruined the liberty when they redesigned it, and I guess they could never get the commaders mpgs to a good government standard.

Here in the south in North Carolina we wave. I get more waves back than not. We even pull over and talk to each other about our Jeeps, even if we are complete strangers. I couldn't tell you how many times a conversation started at a traffic light and ended a hour and a half later at the next gas station, that's what makes owning a Jeep special to me, unlike any vehicle I have owned, mustangs, Hondas, I could list a ton, I feel like Jeep people are just more approachable than other vehicle owners. Maybe I'm a little bias but I had a well built 2012 mustang GT and I always felt like other mustang drivers where out to better me or I never really had the conversations and developed the friendships like I have owning my Wrangler. That may sound stupid but its true. When I go to the gas station in my wife's BMW and another BMW pulls up at the pump next to me, I don't think a conversations about to happen. Every time I'm in my jeep and another one pulls up at the pump beside me, I almost know I'm about to make a friend.

That's how I feel about it. I do get real passionate about my jeep, I've done most of the work on it myself so its personal to me unlike other vehicles I've owned. It feels good to put the work in and step back and say man I did that, even though I've had a few two hour projects turn into 8 hour all day ordeals, whos been there, and we appreciate that wasted time even more when we're done. That's what it means to own a Jeep to me.

They would have, but the footage from inside the dealer service bay getting recalls fixed wasn't as dramatic.

I loved the XJ video, my first Jeep branded vehicle was an '89 XJ Laredo purchased when I was working in Toledo. It was an good vehicle, but all the rest have been Wranglers ('91 then '94 before my current two).

Anyone notice the JK Rubicon wheels on that XJ? It must have JK hubs or narrowed JK axles, or they would not have fit.

As for the Jeep Wave, down here it's a full palm and four fingers up wave.

They just released the full version
