Tire pressure - Offroad

Last time I went to Rausch Creek I scratched my wheels up pretty good. Im going back this weekend and was thinking of lowering my tire pressure in the hopes it might save my wheels a bit.

Any suggestions on off road tire pressure settings and should I just let the air out by hand or buy some valve caps that let the air out?

Thanks.

10-15 pounds of air off road, and sorry that will not prevent rock rash,, its a jeep thing.

Lowering tire pressure will help with traction. It has nothing to do with protecting your wheels from scratches.

Go to any 4x4 store or part store and see if the sell a tire deflator with a gauge! I got mine for about $43. But I have seen them up to $80! Wavey!

I usually air down to 15 psi when I go to Rausch. Won't protect your wheels though.

Scratches is always a thing we all have to deal with! It's part of owning a jeep!

Im ok with the scratches.. Its kind of like a badge of honor. 15 pounds just sounds so low but Ill give it a shot. Anyone want to join me at Rausch this Staurday? Im planning on doing another Guided Green ride. They are a lot of fun.

Thanks guys!
