Two questions

1. What size tire can I run on a JK with no lift if I do not want them to rub when the sway bar is disconnected? I've read all the general forums about tire size and haven't found an answer for my question.
2. Is Plastidip affected in car washes? Don't want it to rub away if I am cleaning the Jeep.

Can't address the first question, but I had a car wash worker use a power sprayer on my plasti-dipped grill... He power washed quarter-sized pieces of the plasti-dip off the grill. So, don't use a power washer!

I went and power washed my jeep a little while ago. I hit the plasti dipped wheels but with low pressure and no problems. You just need to be careful with pressure washing any part of your vehicle.

Biggest tire size I believe is 285/75/17 on stock wheels. Do a search on this forum to be sure.

that's what I've read, but if the sway bar is disconnected then I'm sure there will be rubbing on the trails. I'm looking for the biggest tire that does not rub at full flex (w/ no lift). I'd imagine it'd only be 27-29", maybe smaller, but if I can get a decently big tire that still allows me to disconnect the sway bar without worry of rubbing, then I will.

32" come on some models. I would bet they don't rub. Mine don't but I have swapped 18/59 springs. But I still don't think they would rub,

That will rub control arms.

I ran 255/80-17 Cooper ST-Maxx with no problems on my OE wheels before the lift.
255/85-16 works on the 16" OE steelies.

I ran 285/75-16 on my old Jeep and knocked the back fenders off at full stuff. Worked fine with new wheels and 2.5" lift though.

I had a Silverado that had the grill and both bumpers plasti-dipped for over a year. The only time I ever had trouble at the power washer was when the plasti-dip was "chipped" from bugs or rocks, then the pressure washer would flake it further. Easy fix though, just hit it again with the can!
