On a stock suspension, yes, very true. Adding weight anywhere can affect ride height. Aftermarket suspensions usually have stronger springs which resist weight better, or are designed to compensate for anticipated weight increases.
I didn't need lift for my current tire size, but I added a 2" spacer lift to adjust for the weight of my front bumper & winch.

Talking Thanks for all the response

First post here and I got great response. I clicked through some of the recommended manufacturers. A couple of comments were actually not US made but appreciated. Some of the manufactures didn't make full width bumpers, though they looked good. RockHard's bumper looks to fit the bill. 72" was the width I was looking for and theirs appears to be 70" which will do. Looks like I have a winner. On the upper end of what I wanted to spend but no more than anyone else. It appears to be the total package of my request.

Thanks everyone.

I just installed the WARN Elite series (front and rear) and am very pleased with the look and they seem to be of the usual excellent WARN quality. I looked at many other good options but chose these because I already have the OEM 2" receiver hitch installed and the WARN Elite rear bumper accommodates it.

You won’t regret your decision to purchase the Rock Hard bumper. I’ve purchased several products from them and I have never been disappointed. Their customer service has also been outstanding. Every time I have contacted them with any questions or issues they have gone above and beyond to ensure they have been resolved. By far the best experience I’ve had with a vendor so far.

Our bumpers are made in the USA but are a stubby style. As mentioned RockHard 4x4, Nemesis, Poison Spyder (to name just a few) are made here.

AEV, LOD, JCR or ACE...depending on your budget, functional requirements and whatever is most aesthetically pleasing to you.

and if you're going to get it shipped powdercoated I'd go LOD. They're the only ones that pack their bumpers adequately enough to avoid damage in transit. That or be prepared to fix powdercoat damage yourself. Just read the Mega Front Bumper sticky, you'll read about the nightmares trying to get an undamaged bumper via freight from quadratec & the like. They weigh 100lbs and once it gets on that truck there is nothing the shipper can do to protect it unless the manafacturer packed it right in the first place.

I'm fortunate enough to be able to drive to AEV, JCR & ACE...all local. I used to be a big fan of ARB but since I can't drive to Australia I don't buy their bumpers anymore

All my Hard Rock skids and winch plate were very solidly packed and arrived undamaged even though some of the packaging was no longer pristine. Skids came from Quadratec but I ordered the winch plate direct from Rock Hard. Rock Hard's packaging is the same fabulous quality as their products...

Thanks, but that first reference should be Rock Hard 4x4

Just don't want any new wheelers getting confused on brands.

Of course, thank you for the kind words!

Just had a Rock Hard 4x4 steel front bumper installed. Very happy with it.

Also using Rock Hard oil pan and transfer case skid plates. Happy with them too.

I just had a TPT front delivered and it was well packaged. I also recently had an AEV rear bumper delivered as well as a Shrockworks rear bumper. the AEV and the shrockworks bumpers could have been dropped from an airplane and would have not suffered damage. I have also had a set of LoD sliders delivered and they also know how to package so they don't get damaged.

I'm running LOD front and back and they are awesome! Build quality is top notch all the way from the welds to the zinc power coating and the packaging for shipping is first rate. Oh and they meet all your check boxes (op).

I have JCR front, rear and sliders on my XJ. They have been bashed on rocks a bit, super beefy.

I have Rock Hard skids for the JKUR - top notch stuff.

There are several options, it's going to come down to style preference, then weight.

The TPT bumper looks really good on your rig! One of these days I'll get a pic of mine on my laptop and get it on here. It's the TPT stinger that was coated in tan. Super stout and sexy as hell!

I saw it in the video. It looks way cool. Nice idea to change from black up front.

This is close to what you want, it is a mid-width, so not quite as long - but not a stubby either.

I'm posting it because it's LOD's Armor Lite bumper, which only comes in stubby or mid-width. I owned the stubby and it's a stout piece of metal and yet not much heavier than the stock bumper. The midwidth is about 10 pounds heavier than stock!

It has the d-rings and winch mount, so the size is your only issue - but you save on weight.
