Thanks for the tip. I'll take it in tomorrow.

The only thing I worry about with mine is the stock hardware giving out instead of the Daystar rubbers.

The screws/bolts through the sheet metal? I hadn't actually thought about that, but i don't see that as any undue stress.

Actually, my concern lies with the plastic part of the assembly. I have a '14, so it's had a few years of sun beating down on it. I'm sure it'll be fine, but I'll probably go with the whole new assembly eventually just for peace of mind.

Have the Daystar on my 2012 six years now. No problem with the sheet metal or the plastic holders. The Daystar bands ar as tight as on the first day. No hood flutter. Also have the MOPAR hood lock. It also works great.

Got mine on Amazon, IIRC. They were Prime and a couple bucks cheaper than Qtec

Put on the rear the Fox 2.0 Adventure Shox. You can see the dent in the Rancho that started this rodeo off. After taking them off, both the adjustment knobs have lost their definitive detents. The other one is in ok shape, but I might experiment with the dented one adding marine grease/ rebuild. My wife's Jeep has them on too so when I get the front Foxs, the old Ranchos will go into the "what if" section of the crawlspace.

Then with the single row 50" lightbar, it would whistle . So I took some Gorilla tape and covered the whole bottom side of the light. And it is dead silent all the way up to 80.

I wish. Nah, just wanted to upgrade my smittybilt. First time I got the chocolate from northridge. Was hoping for a golden ticket but no dice. The chocolate was good though! Gave me the energy to power through that install. The zeon 10-S is a snug fit in the 10A/Hardrock bumper.

Wasn’t sure if I was gonna like this. I feel it’s for mall crawlers but I think it came out great. Original color was black but I painted it to match.

It doesn't look like it matches. I think black would look better.

Hahahha I sent that pic to a friend because she makes fun of me for wearing western boots with gym shorts (just around the yard). So I put that in there for her, completely forgot I put that message in there for her.

On the color, it looks a lot better in sunlight. Was rainy in that picture and had Jeep under carport.

Any tips, tricks or advice on the installation? Any advice on tools that will help make it go well?

My 10-S is sitting on the floor in its box, with the mounting plate and hook anchor nearby. This is the next major mod and I don't want to screw it up.

It will go on a Recon with that same style bumper.

Any A/V switch should do. Amazon has a ton that are discontinued due to most manufacturing going to HDMI. About $13 for most and it’ll allow you to switch between front n rear cameras.

Well I bought the wheels and tires there, so naturally I'd take it back there for them to correct the balance.

There's not a whole lot of companies I'd recommend, but Discount Tire is one of them. I've been going there for years and have never had anything but excellent service there.

Spent the day trying to track one heck of a water leak. The main visible leak is coming from the A-pillar in what seems to be a pretty typical spot:

I'm not sure if this is the only leak, because the entire floor was completely soaked and had standing water, so much so that I'll probably have to pull the carpet out to let it dry in the sun. I did see a little separation at the top corner of the body between the metal and the rubber seal, so I did my best to try and close that up. The door/freedom panel seals seem to be in good shape, but I might just replace those to rule them out. In the mean time I've just been driving around with a pile of towels to put in strategic locations if I have to park in the rain

Removed the hard top, installed the soft top, stored hard top all by myself in what seemed to feel like record time.

Usually, my dad likes to help me with this but it's starting to get nice out and driving top down, doors off is so liberating...
