Drove home from Orlando Florida. 886 miles! Got about 17 MPG on the way down but got 10 mpg on the way back. I already miss the 75 degree days.

Grease, oil, and filter change. Rotated the tires, and added a can of sea foam to the gas.
I am also curious as to why the gas burps all over the place when the pump clicks off. It only happens when the weather turns cold.
I just have to remember to monitor the pump more closely, so it shuts off slowly.

Finished up installing the shifter box on my new Atlas 2 and installed CMM front grab handles. The CMM parts are really up there in quality, fit, and finish.

Hi! I had the same problem for a couple of winters before and glad I found this write up. Never happened again! Thanks "TheAngryBird"!

What did you do to your JK today?

Well the weather was nice in Ohio today, so it was a busy morning.

First I lined the factory Infinity sub enclosure with Dynamat my dad had left over from a project. Then I stuffed it full of stuffing from an old pillow and sealed it back up. It made a pretty significant difference! So obviously i took another pillow and ripped it open to stuff the sound bar. I can’t believe I have not done that sooner! Sorry no pics.

Then after a little break and coffee, I went and bought a semi truck mud flap and chopped it up to make my own diy splash guards. Turned out a lot better than I had hoped.

Installed Smittybilt side steps, a gas cover, Rugged Ridge mount system and a Vizsla sticker.

The steps are for kidlets and grandparents.

Finished the Kicker speaker upgrade and added a little Yule tide cheer!

Holy smokes... did the fronts today to finish the 4-speaker upgrade. Drivers side was the bulk of the time, and the ROI on this upgrade was amazing. Poly-fil’d the front boxes and the overall response with all 4-speakers being upgraded was night and day. Brought a smile to the whole family.

Next up was a little Christmas cheer,

Hi everyone. I noticed my Rubicon's Air recirculation switch isn't functioning as expected anymore. I turned on the AC recirculation button but it the vehicle still takes air from the outside environment. I checked with my HVAC guy, he said the window blend actuator is malfunctioning.

could this be true? and how do i get it solved?

I tore apart the interior to prep for the Poison Spyder sport cage install. I took out the seats, center console and the carpets as well so it is bare. Found that the carpets which looked OK on top were a mess underneath with what looks like mold and stunk! I've never been caught without a top in the rain or anything like that so it must have come from the prior owner. So some new Bed Rug is on the way as a replacement. The install required folding down the windshield frame which I have never done before. Not necessarily hard to do but for sure Jeep had no intention of anyone actually doing it!

End result.. the Jeep is stripped down and ready for the cage install.

Yes, it is the sport cage so it is a bolt on. You do have to pull the windshield down to make the install of the front sections easier but I certainly didn't have to pull out the interior like I did.
I was doing some more work at the same time so that led me to pulling the interior. I have a Tuffy security center console and I wanted to color match it. The powdercoating on it is peeling up and it's going to look like crap shortly if I don't do something about it. Not happy about that but oh well. I pulled out the driver / passenger seats to make removing it easier.
Once I got that out I picked up the carpets to do a little vacuuming and ran into the mold. Once I saw the mold I pulled out the rear seat to remove those carpets as well. It all just kept escalating! So now the interior is bare minus the dash but this leads me to the following. I could use a new heater core. I have the typical issue where the left vents are blazing hot but the right side vents are blowing cool air. I might as well tackle that while everything is apart. What a mess!

Speaker upgrade is definitely worth the time. I changed out all 6 and added a box behind the back seat, sounds awesome, even with the top down.

Spent Wed - Sun in a cabin at a 2,000 acre cattle ranch at around 10,000' elevation. No water, no electricity, no WiFi, no nothing but a pot belly stove and a roof over our heads. Just outside Cleveland, NM about an hour south of Angel Fire. Snowed about 1' before our arrival and again Thursday night. 50-60mph winds the rest of the trip. Low's in the low teens with a wind chill in the -20's. F-ing cold!

Our Great Dane/Bull Mastiff Maximus had a blast but was worn out by Day 3.

I finally put the roof and doors back on. Roof had been down (softtop) but still on the Jeep since May. Doors off since May too.

It’s like having a whole new vehicle.

Unfortunately it also means that my wife’s car now takes the Jeep’s spot in the garage.

What did you do to your JK today?

I keep almost ordering the Mopar JK hardtop that I sold a couple of years ago. Not sure why I think that I need it, other than to also order the ProLift top remover which without did make removing the HT a pain in the arse.
