Not today but yesterday, had a 50” light bar installed at the best shop in town. Now to figure out how to redirect the wind so I don’t get the “slapping and “flapping” on my soft top...

-Added wire loom to my Hella fogs;

-Wired the Rigid Cubes I mounted on the nerf bar to the A-pillar lights;

-Installed Wild Boar grab handles front and rear;

-Pulled the 430n and replaced the Nav board to get the GPS/Mapping to work ("Cannot Unlock Maps" error).

-Also added the Daystar Dash tray phone holder and added a double USB power point to the tray. (Busy day!)

Installed my new draglink, tie rod and steering stabilizer today. Oh man I love these 2” aluminum rods with 2Ton ends from RPM Fab. They are super easy to adjust. I haven’t done an alignment yet, but the Jeep goes down the road pretty straight. What an upgrade over stock, the steering it very improved with no bump steer. I drove around with no stabilizer and it felt great, but slapped a Tereflex one on to protect the steering box. All in all a great day.

A lifted JK is new to me. When I hit uneven pavement or a pothole or other road surface anomaly, I need to correct the steering. It feels a lot more 'necessary'..i.e. I never had to correct steering as much in my last un-lifted Jeep. I am guessing this is bump steer?

Good thread for a noob! Thanks!

Others can probably describe it better than I can, but when I’m going down the interstate and you hit a expansion joint and your steering wheel does the little shake thing. This upgrade has totally eliminated the movement of the steering wheel. Now, I have 100k on the stock components, 35” tires and added weight to the Jeep, so they were worn.

We had to have the talk one time about me working on the jeep. I had to explain to her that the jeep was my hobby and it would never be finished. I told her the jeep is like fishing. Just because you go once and you catch a fish doesn’t mean you no longer go fishing. You’ll always go fishing and catching the fish makes you want to fish more! She kind of got it after that. She just wishes the jeep was as cheap as fishing.

Completed: oil pressure sensor change out for p520 code. Inspected driver side for bad lifters and rockers. (All good. Replaced spark plugs all around. (86k) seeing is believing: 100k change interval is BS, at 85k the remains gaped at .56+

Got chewed out by my wife because she thinks that I don't know what I am doing as far as mechanic work... I was trained by a master mechanic. (Just because I don't do it for a living, does not invalidate the things I have learned.)

Rofl. She needs to meet my brother in law. He spends more on fishing than I have on my jeep to date. (I will pass him soon)

It rained most of today, so I applied this wet activated polymeric wax. First time used, really easy to apply. Great finish, supposed to last 5 months so we will see. But so far I like it!
