Rolled over 70,000 miles this weekend. I'm still on the original set of Rubicon MTs and still have the original windshield and front brakes.

Found a front axle seal leaking. 55k on my 17 JKU. Spent half of the day emptying all of my stuff from the Jeep for its trip to the dealer today. Picked up a rental and got the last one they had available.
They put me in a Dodge minivan. What a hit to the ego! Hopefully when I talk to the dealer today, they will have a loaner for me while they fit the Jeep in.

Spent the good part of Sunday reupholstering the seats since the factory "upgrade" "special edition" "leather" was mostly vinyl and cracking. Now at least I'll have real leather and will get the heated seats to work like they should have.
Also replaced the passenger cushion that collapses because of a bad seat pan design.

Ordered new tires today, 295/70R18 to replace the factory 255/70R18. I wanted to stay on the factory rims for now so this little size increase what will still work until I go larger and wider the next time around. Also ordered the AEV ProCal module and pick it up this afternoon.

Went to an outdoor concert and was told to park on the soft grass because I ďsit up high.Ē Took a small advantage of the mud. This is the day after.

Cleaned 'Er Up

I got her waxed/cleaned up for the season and took a few pics this weekend. The Colorado weather is stunning, Aspens blooming yet snow still on the peaks. The elk heard is migrating right now which can be seen over the Jeep in one of the shots. Beautiful animals and when they decide to come over the road, they do and everything stops for a while

I had the rig aligned after I installed the Rancho 2" sport lift last week. Didn't think I would need it. Got it back today, drove it around town a bit and wow. Real happy everything is done. Rides real nice.

Changed the oil today. 5w30 castrol full synthetic. Did the air and oil filter also. Don't have a cabin air filter on hand so that'll have to wait a few days. Also greased the RCV front axle and the front Tom wood dream ever shaft. Will be gettin a replacement for the OEM rear shaft soon.

I'm not an expert on this by any means, but I thought that you were supposed to be concerned with the ratio of the two numbers. You divide the number for channel #1 by the number for channel #40 and try and get THAT number close to 1. So it shouldn't matter if they are both above 2 or even 3, as long as they are close to each other.

Sorry for hijack.

Any tips doing the 5 tire rotation by yourself? I did mine on Saturday and it was a pita. I donít mind paying the dealer for the oil change and rotation in the future if Iím going to struggle like I did.

I found this 3D printer file on Thingiverse for the Midland 75-822 & Baofeng UV-5R radio and thought I'd give it a try. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2755073

I used one of the printers we have at work, then made a bracket for it using some plastic I had laying around. If it all works out I'll make an aluminum bracket for it.

Finally made a stubby out of the stock front bumper. It turned out quite well. I watched a lot videos to decide what route I wanted to take, and not take. I used my ends and took my time on the cuts to make them precise and clean. I used push pins instead of screws to give it a better look or look more like the ones you buy.

- Jack up the rear slightly issuing a floor jack under the pumpkin and crack all rear wheel nuts.
- Raise the rear up high enough to get wheels off the ground and put axle stands under rear axle.
- remove rear wheels and move wheels and floor jack to the front.
- put floor jack under front axle beside the pumpkin (approx center of axle
- jack up slightly to remove some of the weight from tires and crack wheel nuts loose
- jack up all the way so you can remove front tires
- install tires from back on the front
- lower front and torque wheels
- take front passenger tire and move to rear driver side and install
- take Front driverside and move to rear for spare
- remove spare and install on rear passenger side
- lower and torque rear wheels
- install driver side front to spare

Not to derail, but thinking about tire rotations, etc.
One of my issues is torquing the lugs back on. Maybe my sockets aren't deep enough or something but the angle isn't quite 90 degrees between the wrench and socket because of the tire sticking out. So, I'm always afraid of snapping one off.
