What did you pay for your new JK compared to MSRP?

KBB is saying that I can get a brand new JK for under MSRP and even Invoice price.

MSRP = $41,870
Invoice = $39,631
KBB Fair Market = $39,353

I don't see how I can get it for under invoice price? Also, with the popularity of the JK/U, I don't see it getting much lower than MSRP either.

Thanks

It's all in the negotiations, grasshopper.

Its pretty easy.

There are thousands of posts, in dozens of threads here, outlining just how.

Ordered mine for about 8 or 9% below MSRP.

I know it was less than 1% below invoice. I got a first dealer down to 1% below invoice, and the third dealer I talked to knocked another $1500 off that. I think that's like 5% or so below invoice based on my rough calcs.

Your baseline is 1% below invoice...you shouldn't be paying any more than that on any new wrangler ever. Do a search on the forum for 'tread lightly' and you'll find out.

You can even do better if you put your mind to it.

I got mine for about 5% below, but my price included the $599 processing fee in the cost at the 5% below...so my deal was basically the same or damn close to that 7% below in the end.

That makes sense, since Koons is where I got mine.

No hassle dealer. Really. I worked out my whole deal over email.

First thing to learn is that "Dealer Invoice" is not actually what the vehicle costs the dealer. They do not pay "Dealer Invoice" for the vehicle.
The second thing to remember is that if a dealer won't give you the deal you are looking for there are always other dealers you can talk to. You hold more cards in the deal than they do. You can always walk away.
We bought ours from a dealer just over an hour away, in another state, for $4000 under MSRP and a good bit below "Dealer Invoice". Some buy from dealers that are so far away they have the vehicle shipped (and it is still cheaper) or they make a road trip out of it. It just comes down to what is more important to you, convenience or price.

It's pretty easy to get below invoice. I just bought a 2016 JKUR for around 6% below invoice. I could have probably gotten a little more off, but I gave myself a deadline. I started on a Monday and wanted to be done by that Friday. I e-mailed all of the local Jeep dealers and had them give me their best initial price. Took the lowest price and sent it to the others. Did that a couple of times until I got a price I was happy with. Never stepped foot in a dealership until the day I went in to order it.

Will I be at a little more of a disadvantage because I'm going to have it built? I already found one dealer willing to go 1% below Invoice for the built JKUR I want.

I have been casually researching and shopping 2016 JKURs. A dealer a few hours away has many advertised at $5,000 below MSRP, which in some instances works out to 12% below MSRP. And that is the price that anyone who walks in the door pays. Any other discounts that someone qualifies for (military, college grad, left handed, whatever) apply in addition to the $5,000 discount.

I just bought my '16 Unlimited Hard Rock from Farrish Jeep in Northern Virginia. They were great. MSRP $51450 paid $45165 plus tags/registration. And they have 100-150 of them in stock.

Was even better to get a check back and paying 0 in taxes. They paid top dollar for my mile'd up '14 Raptor.

JKUR custom ordered MSRP of 42K paid 38k with slush mats and wheel locks including doc/reg.

Still had to contribute about 2Gs to my awesome state.

See how they sell for in your market. I traveled 200 miles to pick one up 10% below MSRP.

Email is the BEST way to peg dealers against each other. You tell one "hey, this other dealer is getting me to $XX, can you beat that?"? You will really be able to test the limit of how far down they can go this way. I even sourced jeep prices from 2-300 miles away.

To put the icing on the cake- it really helps to have your loan ready to go. In the email you can say "I sourced funding from my local credit union/bank". This will tell them that you are serious. Then open it with "I am willing to consider financing through you", that will incentive them a little more to get the price you want.

No. I think you are actually at an advantage when you order. The dealer does not have to stock the vehicle, so his overhead on it is as low as it can be. Also, you are not pegged to a dealer that happens to have the Jeep you want. Any dealer can order you a Jeep, so you can more easily shop around.
