What do I need to get?

Howdy! new to the forum. Wife and I just ordered our 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara last night!! Now the question is what should I do before it even leaves the lot?? I'll be getting a set of weathertech liners first thing. Anything else I should be getting?

Thanks!

I would say it depends on how you plan to put your Wrangler to use...

not to much off road driving this year due to not getting it until winter. It'll be mostly the DD but with some offroad fun.

I would say don't rush in to spend a lot of $$ and put on mods yet. I would say just purchase some tow straps and a high-lift jack as your basic "get me out of this mud-hole" gear.

Then, once you get the hang of it and start having some fun... you might want to think about getting a winch, and bumpers to go along. But that again, all depends on how you use the Jeep.

If you're new to Jeeps & off-roading, my suggestion is join a club or make some friends who are willing to join you off-road. Go in two vehicles and have one always on proper ground ready to rescue the other if the need arises. Don't venture out by yourself if you don't have the capablity to at least winch your way out.

Just my thoughts, FWIW.

Happy trail'n!

You custom ordered? First thing is patience. Second, and you may have a few days or weeks for this one, is a new keyboard or callous/blister remover/preventer. This is from web page refreshing.

Nothing.

Look at this website. Then look at this one. Here's another. I could go on and on.

The point is that there are a zillion things you could do to your Jeep. The aftermarket is HUGE. Bigger than any other vehicle I'm aware of. Some stuff is right for some folks, but wrong for others. It depends on your use, preferences, budget, etc.

Just drive it for a little while. Take it off road, take it onroad. Meet up with a local offroading group (you can get in touch with locals through this website).

Spend a few months driving it and seeing what's available. Then decide.

yea we did. The dealership I buy from came back with a great deal without buying the TL package, and didn't see one like we wanted coming to trade for. (had to keep the wife happy) I have a feeling this one is gonna go better then the last vehicle I ordered, 2008 Challenger SRT8 ordered December 12 2007 and took delivery July 09 2008!

This is my first 4WD vehicle, and the jeep world is HUGE! The jack is a good idea! I've always wanted a Wrangler and now with the new V6 it was time. I've gotta learn all about using 4WD!

So far I've added the Tail Lamp guards and fuel door to my list!

Welcome!!! Definitely wait before you do any serious mods. Bought my 07 JK last year and went right out and did a 2.25" Lift with 33" Mickey Thompsons. And tomorrow afternoon am picking it up after new lift with bigger tires and whole bunch of other goodies.

Sites like this are great. Go to the gallery, look at pics, etc. Get use to it and then figure out what you like and go from there. The Jeep bug is the greatest virus in the whole world.....except for the wallet.

Great to have you....the only requirement is you HAVE to post pictures once you get that sweet machine.

What color?

Rock on.

There is going to be plenty of things you want or need by the time summer of next year rolls around. Put some miles on road and plenty offroad as well. Try different terrain and skill levels for both you and your rig. Of course go out with others if you are light on recovery equipment.

Don't spend a bunch of money on stuff that doesn't get you in or out of places offroad, or, doesn't protect the rig itself. Save all you can for functional mods. Instead of guards get some LED lights. Saves you electrical draw as well as being functional.

Have lots of fun with her and the search feature, on this and other forums, is your best friend. Do lots of reading and get together with local like minded Jeep owners in your area.

Congratulations on your new rig!

Namaste,

Allen
