What happened to Bushwacker Aluminum Fender Flares?

I heard a lot of good about these, mostly about how similar they were to Poison Spyder for alot less. It seems like they got discontinued, anyone know why? If I can find a set, are they still a good option for flat fenders?

i got some replica Poisons on Amazon, Safaripal i believe, i even used the Poison install videos and pdf to mount them! I hate to cheap out but Poison is on straight crack for what they charge. Laughable prices.

I looked and looked for a set, finally gave up and went with Aries flares. I am impressed with them.

I thought I read a while ago that Bushwacker discontinued their aluminums.

I bought a set on eBay from Jegs. Bushwhacker Aluminum and they fit nice!
They were blowing out old stock. Might give Jegs a call or watch Ebay.

What set the Bushwacker and Poison Spyder fenders apart is the bracket system. I might be wrong, but I don't think Aries and any of the knock offs have anything like that. I know of a set that I can buy for around $600, sounds like that's to good of a deal to pass up.

Got a set of used Poison Spyder flares from a guy who decided to go with a wider set and got them off ebay but kept the brackets. PS wants 320 bucks for just the brackets and hardware. I'm going to bite the bullet as it is still cheaper than a new set..... Haven't decided what to do with my ebay set yet.

Shit I work in metal fab. If someone gave me a pattern, I could cut and form those brackets for less than $10 a piece.

I was shocked with my knock offs, they are part for part identical to the Posions, all support brackets, front and rear. Powder coated. Seriously amazing for 1/4 of the price! Can't beat that. Even came with 2 Led markers. I weigh 267 and i could stand on these bad boys.

I have PS aluminums and couldn't tell the difference between the BW aluminums side by side when i talked to a fellow jeeper that had em.

the price is the price but when compared to MC, CC, Genright, and even offroad Evolution (another PS replica)... PS is the most affordable.

I would get good replicas like @kodgil58 if i were to have another jeep. I can't justify the price of PS anymore since there are replicas that look pretty good. I also won't be using the fenders on trees nor plan to have the jeep on its side.

Also, i've seen good deals from time to time... PS aluminums for 600 at occasional events and online vendors.

I asked their rep when I saw them at Bantam and he said that they are rebranding them under Rampage with some other modifications and that they would be available soon. Sounded odd to me and I’m still skeptical. They are both under the Lund umbrella so it’s possible.

Lined up perfect! Amazing actually, ill post some photos after work and show just how good they are. They're exactly the Narrow width rear and the equivalent to the Standard width fronts of the Poisons. All the hardware needed. I bet posion themselves couldnt tell they're knock offs. Ill "mention" you in the photos tonight so you can see for yourself.

@kodgil58 - can you post a link to the fenders on Amazon? I'm not finding them based on the name you mentioned ("Safaripal"). Thanks.

I found their website but it says out of stock. I couldn't find them on Amazon either.

Does anyone else know of any other knockoffs with the brackets?

I had PS aluminum flares on my TJ & loved them... but for some reason they were discontinued. I hope PS doesn't plan to discontinue the JK versions.

But right now I have to say the stock plastic (bendable) JK fenders are meeting my needs more effectively than solid flares would.

Dang. Looks like they were last sold in August 2018 for $499. Thanks for the link. Also thinking about the Bushwacker plastic ones, since they are a bit wider and I hate mud and rocks flinging up alongside the Jeep. Though I'm leery about the quality of them vs. the $600 price.

I don't blame anyone for going for cheaper Chinese knock offs. But still, it is annoying to see Chinese companies blatantly ripping off/stealing designs and other intellectual property from other companies. When I bought my legit PS hood louver, I noticed a bunch of PS hood louver knock offs on Ebay that even copied the PS logo.

Yet, I am a hypocrite because I bought a Chinese fake Panerai watch a number of years ago that looks nearly identical to the real thing so I am also part of the problem.

Amazon is weird sometimes. That is not true, i bought mine in May 2019, havent even had em on for a full month and i paid $339. Prices drop and rise, i kept an eye on em for about a year and they would bounce all over the place.

I hear ya, hate to do it but i mean come on the price diff is so drastic, i couldnt justify paying 1k more just to have PS. Jeeps are hella expensive as it is, bet im gonna save where i can.

Got my PS steel fenders for about half retail. 4wd.com had a bunch for sale a few years ago. They were powdercoated tan and I guess they were for some special edition. I picked up a set quickly as they sold out in hours. I just rattle canned them black over the powdercoat and they have held up well for 2 years.

Install a browser extension/plugin called Keepa, it'll show you new/used price history and availability for anything on Amazon. Pretty awesome. I've used it on Chrome and Firefox.

@SoDakSooner i remember that deal. It was super sweet and good thing you took advantage of it and not let it pass you up.

Warn zeon 10s was on sale for 899 several years ago at 4wp. I told my cousin that day and he said he'll check it out the next day. Next day was back to its original price.

I got a line on a local guy here in Salt Lake City that has 3 dead stock, new in box Bushwacker Aluminum Fender Flares that he will sell to me for $800 each if I grab all 3 sets. They are the bare aluminum ones. I would keep one for myself, would anyone else be interested in grabbing the 1 of the other 2 sets from me for $800 + shipping?

$800 is about regular price. Mine were about $811 US shipped to Canada with powder coating from northridge. I would expect a better deal than that.
