What is the "Jeep" of boats??

To my boating brothers: what is the "Jeep" of boats...the do anything, go anywhere boat originally designed for service, repurposed for civilians, highly modifiable, cult driven, user friendly, yet constantly expensive equivalent?

Just Empty Every Pocket has to have a Break Out Another Thousand cousin...

My first thought is those fan-powered swamp runners.

An "All terrain boat" is called a hovercraft.

They can go anywhere. They are noisy, don't give that great of a ride, and are expensive. Just like Jeeps!

Catalinas are the VWs of sailboats. OK at what they do, hundreds made, and they will never win a beauty contest.
The jeep of boats is the 14 foot aluminum boat like below. Almost indestructible, run it over rocks and it will still float. Buy a used one for dirt cheep, use it for 10 years and sell it to someone else for what you paid for it originally.

Boston Whaler comes to mind. Growing up a friends grandfather owned one and it survived everything two kids with too little adult supervision could throw at it.

What ever you get look at a jet drive be it inboard or out board. You wont tare up a prop and you can cruse through shallow water and under water downed trees. I had a Sugar Sand jet boat and it was a blast it had a 220hp Mercury jet.
