what's this part? Anyone know?

Wheeling yesterday and this fell out while I was skidding over a rock. It was very clean but also warm. Guy that gave it to me was pretty sure it came from my Jeep. Any ideas?

Isn't that a framis (framiss?) bracket?

Is that related to a "Flamis" bracket?

Don't think so but could be wrong.

OP, did a Toyota go over the rock before you?

That looks like one of the the cheesy brackets often used to attach emissions components to the frame. Check your evap canister and any solenoid valves that may be around it.

If it was warn it was either attached to something that was operating around the bracket or near the exhaust.

And it made it? I thought you said you were out wheeling and slid over a rock?

It was the Staff Guide at Rausch Creek. There wasn't a Jeep in site that could compete with his "done up" Toyota pickup.

Hey snax, I was on that ride at Rausch Creek! I was in the red 2 door Rubi. Were you the one who pulled me out when I high centered?

I still have to wash the Jeep and check for any damage...hopefully all is good.

No, I was in the Black Ops 4 door. You can vouch for the Toyota going over that crazy hill that most bailed out of. That's when my part fell out.

all joking aside, that is the skid plate for the flux capacitor, if left off. the flux capacitor will turn invisable and will be almost impossible to remount... we all know how hard it is to find the hidden holes on those things.

I'm actually surprised no one on the forum seems to know??? Lot of very experienced folks here. Not me though. It looks like the suggestion it may be a spot welded minor bracket of some sort may be your best answer.

I can see marks around the whole on the square side where a lock washer and nut had been.

You mean this hill right? I remember hearing some loud scraping when you went over. Did you have your lockers on?

Yep, that's the hill. I did not use my lockers on that. Had to back up a bit and turn to the right to clear the rock at the top but made it over. I'll be spending some time under the Jeep today to try and figure out where this came from.

Thanks

do you have the stock running boards on your jeep.. if i remember correctly ,, it looks like a piece that hold the top part over the bottom part.
