Which lift do I have?

What's the easiest way to tell exactly what lift I have? I'm looking at a 2013 JK, and the seller says it's a Teraflex 3" lift. I confirmed it has Teraflex shocks, but don't know how to confirm if its a 3" lift. Not that I doubt him, but when he bought it, it already had the lift on it, so he's just going by what he was told. I also don't know which Teraflex lift it is. I know their lifts vary widely in price based on what is included, but I don't know what to look for honestly. He said it was a $2500 kit, but again that's just what he was told.

Anything specifically i can measure? Anything to look for to see how comprehensive of a kit was used?

I assume Teraflex is a decent lift? When I had my 98TJ about 11 or 12 years ago, Rough Country lifts were all the rage, and what I had.

I've attached a couple photos, but I'm sure its impossible to tell what lift it is just by the pics. FYI, in the pics its running Nitto Trail Grappler 33x12.50s. He recently put on brand new Yokahama Geolander MTs 275/65R20 (so 34x11, i think?). Visually I could not tell any difference betwen the tire sizes.

There's no way to tell what you have from the pics posted.
You can measure to see how much lift there is.
If you post pics of the control arms, bumpstops, track bars, etc we can tell you if it's just a coil lift or a complete lift.

Here's a pic of the stock measurements. A 3" Teraflex lift will give around 4" of lift in the front.

Yep, we need photo's of the front axle, rear axle, control arms, bump stops, springs etc. We're good at figuring it out, but need to see it...
Perfect. I don't have the Jeep yet. He's replacing the front CV joint. He just went from 33s to 34s and it it was just enough to put the front drive shaft at too extreme of an angle. He's swapping to a High Angle CV.

It will probably be next week before I actually have possession of the Jeep to take better photos. I knew you couldn't tell from the photos I posted, but dammit, I just wanted to show it off. LOL.

Even he cant guess without pictures.

BTW, kudos on the obligatory gas station photos.
LOL! Those were actually the photos from the seller's listing, not my pics. But now that you mention it, the first picture I took of my 05 TJ was at a gas station. When you buy a vehicle, you generally need to go gas it up, and while you're there with good lighting, why not take some photos, right?

Thanks for the info guys, I'll update with photos.

My first Wrangler was a 98 TJ that I sold probably 10 or 11 years ago. It had a lift, but I never had any issues and never took time to really research it. If I did, I've forgotten it all now. My current Jeep, an 05 TJ, just has a small leveling kit and 31" tires. So honestly I'm knew to lifts and just trying to learn.

Next step will be regearing from these 3.21s to 4.10s or 4.56s.

I took photos today of the track bars, the control arms, shocks, bump stops, coil springs, etc. I dislocated my patella just before he delivered the Jeep, and I'm on crutches, so I couldn't get down on the ground to take measurements. The pics you see are me bracing myself against the Jeep and leaning over on one leg and holding the phone as low as I could, LOL. So they aren't the BEST pics, but I think they will do.

I believe this is a TeraFlex 2.5" lift with the 9550 VSS shocks. https://www.extremeterrain.com/teraflex-25-lift-kit-w-9550-vss-shocks-0718-jk-2-door.html

That seems to be pretty decent lift for the price point and for just a basic lift. I'm not doing any serious rock crawling. Just some pavement pounding, mall crawling, and occasional trail running.

And someone has added a JKS Adjustable rear track bar. As far as i can tell, the front track bar, sway bar, control arms, are all original stock. the only weird thing is, the coil springs look like the original stock springs. I could be wrong, but the ones in the kit say TeraFlex on the springs, and these do not have anything on them. Plus with the bumpstops, it looks like the front axle would only have a few inches of upward flex before bottoming out. I would've expected more space.

Again, no measurements, yet. I'm just comparing components to the kits available, and that kit seemed the closest match.

I'll attach the best photos I took. Just looking for everyone's opinions. Am I right on the type of lift I have? Does it look like it was done right? I can't drive it until I'm healed, but it drove out really nice on the test drive at least.

Sorry for upside down and sideways photos. They weren't upside down when I uploaded them.

And my plan for this spring/summer is to clean the underside and POR15 it. It looks bad, but I checked it out closely before buying. There's surface rust on some components, but the frame is solid. I remembered to chec for rust from the TJ days!!

Yes, definitely the TF 2.5 with 9550's. Which tires are you running now? Teraflex is over conservative with their bump stops... That front is 2.75" and with 35's you usually only need 2" and with 33's only 1". So you are losing up travel just because of their overly conservative design.

Plus the 9550's can get away with only 1" in front. So depending on tire size, we can get you some more flex... Same in the rear, their bump stop is 2.75" tall and the shocks only need 1" so it comes down to the tires.

Also, I don't see any caster correction on there. It will certainly drive better with some front lower control arms. You can do it the easy way with some plug and play Teraflex Sport LCA's or an upgrade with a set of Core4x4 adjustable front lower control arms.

Either way, Allen from Allen's Off-Road can get you a quote and he'll treat you right. @AOR

It's a metric tire size, but converts to 34.3 inches. I just haven't taken an actual measurement of the tire size. So it could be taller or short than advertised. They are Yokahama something or anothers. I think I listed it in the OP.

I'd probably be more interested in just some plug and play Sport LCAs. Im guessing those are the correct springs and are just weather worn. I'm not looking to do anything real crazy, just want it be done correctly, ride/drive nice, but also be capable if I do go off-roading.
