Which would you all pick?

AEV Snorkel or Rugged Ridge XHD Snorkel? Got a 50 inch light bar, and not wanting to deter the light with the rugged...I will also be getting fender flares so I figure get them at the same time and then figure out how to do it with the aftermarket fenders...lol

American Expedition Vehicles - Brute Kit, V8 HEMI, Aftermarket Jeep Conversions, Products, Wheels, Accessories and Highline Kits for Jeeps (TJ, JK, WK, XK).

I really looked into this! I even called cause I want the extension (18 inches) and I dont want it to interfere with the light bar, so I asked if they could do 15 and they said sure just write it into the box when you put in your order. The price was what deterred me from it, but it seems like if I am going to go with one I might as well just say "shut up, and take my money". Lol

I can't answer for the OP but for me it would be about getting cleaner, cooler air and probably more of it. I am not interested in playing in deep water.

I do not have any experience with any of these but I really hope to get the AEV snorkel with prefilter eventually. For me a snorkel would be mainly used so I could run a prefilter and I would want it high enough to get cleaner air to begin with because I have to drive my Jeep off road on dusty construction sites for work. I would also be using an AEV heat reduction hood so I would not have to cut up my Jeep or dirll a bunch of holes. I have seen others that run the AEV snorkel with roof racks and they have just made some modifications to the rack and it worked fine. I can see the AEV snorkel getting in the way of a big light bar though.

The River Raider looks like a nice snorkel but what is with the price? It looks like a really simple design that would work well with other acsessories like roof racks but I don't get it. It does not have a very finished look. It just looks like someone cut a hole in the cowl and stuck a piece of PVC pipe through it with a prefilter on top. I am pretty sure it would be really simple to do a DYI that would look just like it and cost about $450 less. I think most of the cost would be in buying a prefilter.
