Whining jeep

Ha I wish it was because it was supercharged.

I went offroading last Sunday and throttled it pretty hard.
Drove home and everything seemed fine.

The next day I noticed its whining/humming with acceleration, sounds like a supercharger or steering power failure.

In neutral, I had my gf step on gas slightly while I was under it, sounds like it's coming from the right side front tire area.

What could this be?
I looked online but theres so many pages.

Help me out fellow jeepers.

It's a 2016 hour, 46k miles.

I just took mine in for some ticking and a whining sound at idle and just off idle. Ticking ended up being a bad rocker and cam plus just the noisy injectors. The whining took some doing to reproduce but it mainly happens between 12-1400rpm. They suspected water pump, but called this morning and informed me it was the AC compressor. Not happy about that but not too surprised as it was louder with the AC on. Almost went away when off. I can post a video of the noise if itíd help although itís kinda hard to hear. With the doors and windows closed you canít hear it. Iím replacing the AC comp though. Canít have that failing in Vegas. 2014 with 48K

Could be the power steering pump or even the alternator.

I'm not sure its steering, I've had that issue on a different vehicle, this one is aligned with acceleration or throttle.

Also the AC doesnt change anything on my issue.
I'm hoping it's either the alternator or water pump.
I dont even want to take it to the dealer, eith all the dust and mud under my hood I know theyll say it's from offroading and wont cover it.

Meh, take it to your local wash and power wash the exterior and engine bay.

Check the belt tensioner pulleys. They're a common failure point especially if you hit any water. It's a less than $15, ten minute fix if that's what it is.

Mechanic's stethoscopes come in handy if you're unsure.

I dont have a mechanicstethoscope, but luckily my uncle said he will be able to look at it in a few days, he used to own a body shop and worked on semis trucks and some cars.

Went to the dealer after my uncle said it was the alternator and should have been having issues so early.

They have drive a cherokee as a rental. Not a jeep.

Well shit...the reason they replaced the compressor was there was an intermittent high pitched screech/whine between 12-1400rpm. And itís still there. AC compressor wasnít the problem. Not happy I dropped a lot of money on something that probably didnít need replacing and Iíve told them as much. They want to make it right so Iíll give em one more shot, but Iím not putting much more $$ into it.

Got her back from the dealer.

It was the alternator, tension and idler pully.

Shes back to purring like new.

I guess the lifetime warranty might be handy.

I keep hearing a whining sound too. Seems to come from inside the Jeep, near the passenger seat. Goes away when my wife isn't with me.
Anybody else have this?

Whine at idle, put it in park such as when waiting in a drive thru and it immediately stops. Ď15 with AT. Sounds up front and has been noted for probably a year. No transmission issue noted. Once had a bad alternator on a brand new Bronco that I drove from DFW to San Angelo at Thanksgiving. I could hear it at highway speed then. I donít hear it when driving around with the Jeep I donít believe. Iíve wondered about belts but I didnít think putting vehicle in park would impact water pump or alternator belts.
