I hear all these complaints about the Wrangler leaking, reliability, and cost; but I had issues with my Fords years ago. I was a Ford customer for my first few vehicles. They weren’t bad, all but one just weren’t as enjoyable as my Wrangler.
My Wrangler has been very enjoyable to drive and has been trouble free so far. It will easily outdrive my skills, so I really can’t ask for much more.
Not that I wouldn’t be interested in an old school boxy looking Bronco (kind of like Chrysler went old school looks with the Challenger) but that doesn’t seem to be the way they are headed. If they did I think sales would be off the chain.

Well, there you go ... "it was created as a competitor to the Jeep."

Scout will challenge the Renegade...
Bronco will challenge the Wrangler..

Perhaps all four will meetup at Brokeback Mountain.

I see a pronounced rear bumper
The flares look expandable for possible bigger tires? Not everything needs to be on 40s
Good looking initial break over angle
If the front is done right, it could get dressed up with an aftermarket bumper?
Ecoboost it for the upper end
IFS is OK
Larger windows give good visibility as those hips on doors have grown too high
Add lockers on both ends on the top end package
Make sure it has 4lo and the drive line to support 2 tire sizes up from production

Sure it won't be a wrangler, or a scout or a bronco... but it will sell if it can differentiate itself from the sea of average at a decent price point.

The Syclone is back.

I say put that blower on the AEV Bison and call it the SykoBison.

Sorry @Old Syko if that breaks a trademark of yours or something....

I don't know how long a company can maintain the Trademark on a vehicle name, but unless IH has released the "Scout" name, I would be surprised if Ford could get Bronco Scout. Of course a filing may just be a distraction as well. And, don't they still maintain the rights to "Bronco"? It has not been out of production all that long.

And if it looks like an old school Exploder, what's the point?

Built by an aftermarket company. Limited to 100 copies.

If it sells for under $75K I'll be surprised.

This is all JMO and not political,,, but,, With the nation headed back into election mode, uncertain of the outcome or a complete change in power, the markets are going to go nuts in a bad way. Look back at the time before the '08 election. The big money knew there was going to be a change and took action before the election. When people stop buying toys it's going to happen. The new Bronco will be, like the JL, the 2nd or 3rd vehicle for fun in many homes. Not good to bring out a totally new vehicle in a down economy. Hence, the delay till after the election. It will be fun to watch all this play out. If I could see the future I would not be driving vehicles 5+ years old.

Let’s say a financial downturn did happen, why would you not want to be driving vehicles 5+ years old?

They should be paid off with zero financial commitments...

I'm betting the Bronco will be a lot closer to the Honda Passport than to the Wrangler.

Yep, also an older vehicle will most likely grandfathered into any of the old (current) regulations or would qualify for cash for clunkers 2.0
