Willys Wheeler?

Hi, I'm new here so hopefully this is the right site to ask this....I just bought a Willys Wheeler 2015. How do I know it is a Willys and just not someone putting a decal on it to resemble a Willys? What do I look for?

Do you have a black grill? do you have black Rubicon wheels? Do you have red shocks? or just type you vin # in here to get your build sheet.

I do have a gloss black grill, black rims with a pic of a jeep on them and as for red shocks, I had the undercarriage coated so now everything is black.

As he said, check the build sheet. I don't think there is a letter or number designation in the VIN for the Willys editions like these is for the Sahara and Rubicon. Well, used to be, I'm not sure with the JK's anymore.

Willy’s edition also has a 4x4 sticker on the rear and black rock rails.

Looks like you have a BRAT. Look up the VIN and that will solve the mystery. If you don't know how to do that , post the vin.

My guess, NOT a WW

We bought a 2015 Willy’s wheeler new, it is on the window sticker what is included, mine says Willy’s Wheeler S pkg under options, not sure what the S is for. If purchased used original owner should have this. Also used to be able to give dealer VIN and they could get a duplicate window sticker, but have not tried this since the 90’s.

Those are not the '15 Willys wheels, at least they don't look like the ones that came on my '15 billet silver JK. But it looks like yours came with other upgrades (specifically the front) since that isn't the stock '15 front bumper. The 4WD decal would be on the right side of the spare tire between the tailgate hinges. Mine have red shocks as well.

Get the vin checked, but I'm 100 percent sure you have a Willys Edition. Not to many people would buy a sport and then make it look like a stock Willys (if any). Plus people change stuff all the time, i have a 16 Sahara which was the first year to have silver grill inserts for the Sahara standard. One of the first things I did was get a matching grill without inserts, Hydro Blue with silver inserts looked super girly. The people in this thread are totally over thinking this.

The one on the right is the stock plastic Willys bumper. My wheels are the same as in this picture, and those shown previously.

The bumper you have is the same bumper that came on my new ‘16 Willy’s. Same wheels, tires, shocks and rock rails. That’s a Willy’s edition for sure.

I'm pretty sure it is a legit Willys.

Everything looks like it should except for the missing "4 Wheel Drive" sticker, which could be peeled off by previous owner for various reasons (btw, I peeled off my Sport stickers long time ago)

And as mentioned above - I seriously doubt that someone would spend time and money putting on glossy bumpers, red shocks, wheels and decals just to make a regular Sport look like WW

All WW come with 3.73 gear ratio, so it should be pretty easy to verify. What is your RPM at 70 mph?

They are Willy's wheels, not rims.
Gloss black grill
Gloss black center bumper covers.
It will have 3.73 axle and limited slip rear differential.
You have a Willy's

It's a Willys. The sliders, wheels, and grill. Oh and the sticker says so. Seriously though, yeah, it's a Willys. Now the real question is, is it a Willys Wheeler, or a Willys Wheeler W?

The 4 Wheel Drive sticker would not be on the rear if it has the upgraded h/d spare tire carrier...at least mine didn't. Mine was a special order.

Pretty sure that was not available in 2015. Which is not to say it couldn't have been added (teraflex, etc.) and be covering the sticker. But who adds an aftermarket upgraded carrier for stock wheels/tires?

The presence of steelies means it's not an S model (assuming somebody didn't buy an S, sell the alloys to cover rent or groceries, and replace with steelies )

Steelies only came on Sport models. Sport S had the Moab style 5-spoke alloys.

Cheers!
