Winch/bumper question

I ordered a 2015 Unlimited Rubicon and we're looking to have a winch put on the front....Someone told us that the bumper is plastic and you have to have a steel bumper? Is this true? Any thoughts?

There are several companies that make winch mounting plates that work with the stock plastic bumper. Smittybilt, Warn, Maximus are just a few of the options available.

I vote for the RH4x4. I like the fact that the nubs fit under the tow hooks

X2 on the RH winch plate. Add stubby end caps and you're good to go. Used my Qtech on multiple occasions, works great.

You don't "have" to have a steel bumper. I and many others prefer a steel off road bumper with a winch, but there are many nice oem bumper set-ups as you can see above. It's a personal preference and your choice on how you want it to look and function.

I can vouch for the Rock Hard Aluminum bumper. Great fit and finish very light, easy to install. I hope to mount the winch (Smittybilt X2O 10k lbs with synthetic rope) this weekend.

The bumper looks great and offers all the features I needed.

Good luck.
