Winch on stock front bumper?

I have a 2013 Jku I want a winch but can't afford a new bumper. Is it possible to add the winch to the stock bumper or is it best to wait until I can afford a new bumper? P.S. please don't make to much fun of me.

Looks great! Are those end caps on the bumper? How did you mount the winch?

What are the red lines between your winch and lights?

End caps are from vdp. You can go for metal if you want from (I think) EVO

Winch is mounted using a mount plate from RCX.

Several manufacturers produce a winch plate for the stock bumper including RCX, Warn, and Smittybilt. I used the Smittybilt mount.

I have one on a stock bumper with intentions of picking up a new bumper, but after putting the RC end caps, I am content with my setup.

I've got my winch on a stock bumper. It requires some cutting and drilling. I used a winch plate from Harbor Freight, it was only $30.

Here's the factory bumper winch mount kit from Rough Country. It runs about $145. It's not super hard to put on, but it was aggravating though. You will need to relocate the vacuum pump. You can by their kit for $15 or just move it & secure it with zip ties like I did. I wasn't aware of the relocation kit when I did this one. I modify Jeeps at work & this is one I did early last year then ended up buying it for my wife. The kit works good & doesn't look bad. You can buy a Smittybilt winch like she has & this mount kit & your set to go for less then $500. Not a bad set-up IMO. I am getting her a stinger bumper nest year though cause I like the winch sitting down lower & having d-ring shackles instead of tow hooks for recovery.

I used the harbor freight plate as well and modified it and my bumper to fit.
