Wiper blade system groaning.

Hi all, I was wondering if the jk has issues with the wiper blade motor failing?
What I’m wondering is if pieces in the wiper blade system are prone to making noises and just need lubed?

When I turn my wiper blades on a groaning noise can be heard, I think the noise is coming directly in front of the steering wheel. Any thoughts, the wipers still work fine they are not slow or shaky.

Actually just replaced an assembly system for a buddy on his '13 JK. Tore the motor open on the old one and it was full of rust and seized. I had already tested all electrical, etc., prior and even swapped a working assembly from my Jeep on to his and it worked fine, so we had already narrowed it down to the motor/assembly. Mine is garage kept and his isn't. I've read that this rust in wiper motor isn't an entirely uncommon issue for Jeeps in the southeast. I don't think the motor seal is the best and moisture from humidity tends to find its way in there. It isn't difficult to pull the cowl and wiper assembly out. A heads up if you do that, it's easier to get to the plastic pull pin if you open the hood and access from the front.

Also, it's real easy to pull the blade arms off. You may want to pull those and run the motor to see if the groaning noise you describe is still there. It can pinpoint it to the wiper assembly or not.
