12" kicker solobaric box???

I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler and I want to mount a single 12" Kicker Solobaric L5 speaker in the back. Does anyone on here custom build sub boxes? Also, I was told I have 4" speakers in dash and 5.25" speakers in my soundbar and want to replace all of those with upgrade but without mods. Any help????

Going thru the same thing myself., 4x6's in the front and 61/2 in the sound bar. Im goin with sony's and building my own box for 1-15 and 2-12's. already took the back seat out. I think that most any truck box would fit behind the seat in the middle. If memory serves me correctly, you should have 12" of floor space between the back gate and the seat and about 8 " farther up the back of the seat. Just keep in mind the brackets to fold the back seat down, they do stick out some. Good Luck

I just started back up building custom fiberglass sub boxes i normaly rhino line them so they look really cool but also durable. Alot of them i do a small 32" by 10" drawer underneath them for like tool storage. It just all about how much your wanting to spend. If you go on quadratec Kicker has a plug in system for jeeps for your dash and sound bar speakers.

Do you have any skills with tools? You can build your own box. Speaker boxes arent all that hard to build if you take your time. The boxes I have made are usually made from 1/2" or 3/4" MDF. Figure out what the volume your box should be for the best performance from your sub. Design a box that meets or comes close to that volume. For a sub behind the seat, with a sub that size (I had a 10" solobaric), down firing would probably be the easiest way to build it. Once you build your box, take some silicone and fill every seam on the inside of the box. When you assemble the sub in the box, throw some polyfill in behind the sub.

Keep it simple CoolhandLW. The other guy from 6 years ago just mounted plywood covered in carpet to the back of the seat, then mounted a shallow speaker box to that.

Thanks, Boogieman! Looks like that takes up the entire cargo area - I'm thinking the hollowing out of the middle of the backseat will be my best option to conserve space. I bet yours is a mobile party though
