Besttop tire carrier

Crazy good deal if anyone has been thinking about one. On sale for 130. I waited months to buy mine and thought I got a good deal when I paid 270 a month ago and am kicking myself for not waiting longer! Have been very happy with mine even though its only been on for 3 weeks. Very solid and a pleasure to open with my 35 on it.

I see some negative reviews on Amazon concerning alignment and stressing the tub. You guys see any issues with the ones you have?

I got a better deal to hold my 35" spare. $15 and the tailgate hinges have been great for over 7 years.

I bought one on Tuesday. Price was too good to pass up. I have read older threads that state to mount the brackets on the tailgate first, then work on installing the hinges to the tub when everything is tightened down. Also have read numerous threads that state to replace the painted hardware they provide with grade 8 material.

Thanks for posting about the tire carrier. We've got a bunch of items on our specials list right now. They are good until we nearly sell out of these but items like tire carriers seem to be going quickly.

Here is a direct link to our current specials

Thanks again for posting about this!

Is Bestop ever going to make twill upper door skins?

For TJs? If so, there are no plans to offer it in black twill for the TJ. For the JKs and JLs yes.

Dang. Guess I bought mine 3 years too early

For that price, absolutely get the grade 8s. Iíve had zero issues with mine, opens easy and smooth.

They may have updated the instructions. I swear mine told me to mount to the door first. It wasn't bad. Really happy with it, just wish I'd have waited a few weeks, would have ordered the tailgate rack at the same time if this sale had been on!

I'd give Best Top a ring. They may possibly honor the sale price, since you purchased just a few weeks ago. Definitely worth a call.

I gave it a shot but no luck. I'm gonna hold off on buying their tailgate rack and tray til after the holidays just so it doesnt happen again 😉

Mine has been on for three years and I've not had an alignment issue, I've also never had to go back and make any adjustments. It may be because I only have a 30" on it, and there could be issues with a larger tire size.

Overall a great product!!!
