Fender Covers

Have the usual rust on the 2003 coming through on top of the fenders.

Yeah I know the fenders should be replaced, but the pocket doesn't have the change right now.

So I'm looking to push changing the fenders down the road.

My thoughts are doing a Por15 under the fenders to hopefully slow down the rust and add fender covers.

Has anyone done this and thinking about using 3M double sided tape instead of rivets.

Plus I would also add to finish the job

Thoughts????

Unfort I don't have the time to replace them and the TJ would need to go into a shop for paint and replace. That alone is going to be $$$$.

There are primed, painted, clearcoat factory color fenders on eBay for about $269.00 shipped.

Wow, very tempting. Guess I should look at some youtube vids on how to change.

Thanks.

I need to do this on mine. It's just nuts and bolts to get the fender off the body and to remove things attached to it. Of course, they will be rusty.

Here's what I think I'm going to do.

Wait until next Spring as I should be retired and will have the time to swap the fender myself.

Sounds good. I'm recently retired and when you don't need your Jeep to drive to work daily it allows tyou to get things done without the time pressure.
