Is my rig done?

As some of you know, I purchased my 05 Rubi back in early January right after New Year's. It came with 61K miles, completely stock down to the head unit.

Since picking it up in January I've put about 1K miles on it. Most of the time it sits in the garage at my parent's place in Connecticut where I've worked on it. The goal was cleaning it up, restoring some parts and building it out for a fun summer / weekend car that was badass but not a rock crawler.

Because this is my first Wrangler that I actually built the way I wanted, I'm wondering if I'm officially "done" with the build? I've been looking online, through vendor catalogs, etc and just not seeing anything else I want to do to it.

I've included a list below of all parts that were installed since early January, and a few parts left to add. I'm missing some parts but at this point the list is pretty exhaustive. I also included photos of day of pick up and how it sits today.

At some point I want to do a Hemi V8 conversion, do 33s with an inch bigger lift but otherwise if anyone has any thoughts appreciate it!

Items left to install:
- Bartact Rear Seat Covers
- Delta Third Brake Lugs
- Smittybilt Roll Bar Pad Covers
- ARB Compressor
- Body Painted Wheel Rings
- New Brake Rotors, Pads + Calipers

Installed:
- Warn Rear Bumper + Tire Carrier
- Warn Stubby Front Bumper
- Truck Lite Headlights
- Rugged Ridge Tub Rails
- Rugged Ridge Mirror
- Quadratec LED Tails
- Piaa LED Fog Lights
- Bedrug Liner
- Rugged Ridge Hood Catches
- Rough Country Lift
- Gas Filler Neck
- Mopar Rubicon Flares
- Top Window Retainer
- Smittybilt Roll Bar Padding
- Front Sway Bar
- Soft Top Storage Bag
- Warrior License Plate Frrame
- New Floor Mats
- Front Sway Bar Brackets
- Smoked Lights
- Kicker CompRT Subwoofer
- Kicker Front + Rear Speakers
- Pioneer Head Unit
- Mopar Side Mirrors
- Kentrol Tailgate Hinges
- JCR Tailgate Cover
- SPOD Unit
- Rough Country 20 LED
- Rough Country 20 Brackets
- Locking Gas Cap
- Red Rock Antenna
- Red Rock Headlight Bezels
- Rugged Ridge Grab Handles
- JKS Sway Bar Disconnects
- Level 8 Tracker Pro Wheels
- MT/R Kevlar Tires
- Smittybilt D-Rings
- Warn Receiver Plug

No such thing as a Jeep build being done. If you think you are done, just wait 6 months and you'll realize you are bored of something and want to refresh it, or you'll discover a new product you want.

You want a Hemi swap? Do it! Do whatever makes you happy with your Jeep. Clean rig btw

Looking good! Where'd you buy the front and side marker smoke lights?

Ha! Everyones sentiments are what I've been feeling for the past few months. In January I thought I was done and then said screw it, ended up doing a lot of the big money purchases earlier than expected (i.e. wheels, tires, bumpers, etc). Right now I don't think the Hemi V8 conversion is going to happen anytime soon - most likely going to do a lot of maintenance for now in terms of cleaning things up, conserving the frame, etc.

The smoked lights I bought off eBay - I don't have the side markers but do have the front markers if you want a pair of those just pay shipping. If you do get the side markers, I have a few hundred flat nuts that were impossible to find that I ordered from a hardware company in the midwest - good to have if you need those too.

Ultimately, I think flipping through webpages and catalogs I'm not finding anything bolt on that I want or need at this point. For a minute was contemplating mastercraft seats all around but I love the stock seats and the bartact covers protect from rain which is what I wanted. I don't know, maybe poison spyder hood louver? Will continue flipping through catalogs and webpages and update everyone. More photos coming soon after I finish installing some pieces this weekend and next.

The more I think about the Rubi, I think I'm going to drive it as a weekend car for this summer, maybe next. At that point probably pull the tub and all exterior pieces, do fresh khaki paint and conserve the frame. No need for a frame swap, anyone that's worked on it has said it's the cleanest frame they've ever seen on a TJ. Think fresh paint and a Hemi V8 swap will be the next "big" items on the to do list.

Probably should have started there first

No winch. I had an 04 Rubi I actually sold to a member here about 2-3 years ago (bigcat). Was silver, I think sold it with 48K miles? I had a winch on it, front and rear bumpers, etc. The winch was used exactly one time - and that was pulling the line out and bringing it in to make sure it worked.

I've been thinking about getting a Warn winch with the synthetic line for aesthetics but I'm kind of digging the Warn stubby bumper as is.

Only other immediate item I was thinking is 2 inch square LEDs by the mirrors but think that may be overkill. Was thinking light bar with 4 of the Piaa LED fogs / driving lights but may be overkill too.

Do you have or need a soft top, or will you just run with the HT off for the summer? If you want a soft top you could add that to your list. If not, perhaps a weather proof cab cover for if you get caught in the rain without Jeep shelter. https://www.quadratec.com/products/1...C7RxoCxpnw_wcB

Your Jeep is looking good....good luck!!!

Thx, guys! I'll post more photos tomorrow when I get back to Connecticut and get a few more pieces on. Nothing major, back seat cover and some minor items.

Got most of what I wanted done today. New smittybilt roll bar pads are on - better fit than I expected given them being smittybilt. Just a pain having to remove most pieces on the bars in that it's time consuming, was good to clean out more of the rig though.

Replacedmucket seals, rear window brackets and other small things. Also put the rear Bartact cover on and delta third brake lugs. Frustrating having a wire come loose after I shrunk wrap and installed everything, lost my mind thinking was something worse but all ended up OK.

I'll post more photos tomorrow once I get to bigger black zip ties and finish cleaning everything up. Officially done for a minute. ARB sliders with steps at some point this summer, otherwise going to enjoy this thing for a season or two before a V8 swap
