Be wary taking your Jeeps through water that deep. Earlier Wrangler transmissions like the AX-5 and AX-15 manual transmissions, and the 30RH and 32RH automatic transmissions are vented and their vents are open... not extended upwards via rubber hoses to be out of the reach of water like newer TJs have. That means taking your Jeeps through water that is 2' deep is likely to produce a flooded transmission... especially bad news if you have an automatic. The axles and transfer case have remote vents on even the early TJs... but not the transmissions. It was starting in 2000 with the manual and 2003 with the automatic when the remote vent hoses appeared.

So how deep can the newer TJs go without issue?

Not that I plan to be crossing any 'small ponds' but if I end up driving through deep water, how deep before I need to drain all the fluids and replace them?

Is Chadwick the dude that "claimed" he was trying to impress his girl and drove into a small pond. Only to post pics of his jeep being removed from the Atlantic Ocean? I remember him.
