LED lights disrupting radio signal??

I just recently installed 4 cube LED lights on my wrangler. 2 of them on the bumper and 2 of them by the windshield. And when I turn any of the 4 lights on my radio becomes fuzzy on all stations. Turn the lights off and then it goes right away. If I turn just the two on the bumper the radio signal goes in and out with fuzz but if I turn the ones on by the windshield the radio just has fuzz no signal.

In the one pictures you can see that I tried wrapping electrical tape around my antenna because a portion of it now rests on the back of the light.

Any ideas how to fix this because it is very annoying when driving at night.
Thanks for the help!

Don't know what would could that but to get my antenna away from the led bracket I just took a pair of pliers and bent it below the bracket to be parallel with the windshield frame.

Ok I might have to try bending it to see if that helps. I wired them up with a switch and a relay.

Do you have the stock radio? Where did you buy the LED lights?

LED lights are powered by high frequency switching power supplies, and especially the cheaper LED lights can create and backfeed a whole lot of noise in the electrical system. I imagine more expensive lights are designed to minimize the ammount of noise sent back into the system, but cheaper ones dont have that protection.

I have LED bars on my front and rear bumpers, and I can hear the switching frequency clearly in my CB radio - but the stock radio is unaffected.

Some fixes: put filter caps on the supply to each LED and radio, wrap the LED radio power through ferrite cores, or add extra grounds to the LED housing.

However, if the noise is as bad as you say, there might be nothing you can do except get different lights.

If you happen to have a friend with a oscilloscope you could find out the extent of the noise and the best way to counteract it. Short of that you could try some of the fixes above and that might solve the problem.

I do not have a stock radio and they are AVEC LED lights. I previously had some KC lights there and there was no problems at all.

Could you explain more what some of the fixes are. Like what these filter caps are and where I can buy them. Could I possible switch out the antenna wire connected to my radio?

Is your stereo mounted in one of those plastic dash kits? If so when it was installed did you reuse the bracket that secures the back of the factory stereo? Also did you find a spot on the new stereo to bolt the ground strap too?

Yes the stereo is mounted in one of those dash kits. I don't think the bracket that secure the back of it was reused. And I am not entirely sure exactly where the ground strap is bolted to, it should be bolted to where the factory one was.

The PO had this stereo installed when I purchased the jeep so I am not exactly sure how it was installed off the top of my head but I can easily access the stereo and check these things.

The KC lights you had were probably not LED, and if they were LED then I am pretty sure KC would have a good electical design.

Since you do not have the stock radio, I would start there. Check that the case has a good ground to start.

Where did you run power to the lights from? If it is near the radio antenna cable behind the globe box that could be your problem.

Radio filter caps (capacitors) can be found online. Search "radio noise filter" and there are a lot of options. But i would hold off on this stuff for now and check that the radio isn't the problem first.

I have Exactly the same issue today, after have three cubes installed. Two on the front replaced old, round lights, the third cube is mounted as a back-up light on top of the taillight. My radio also is an aftermarket install. When I flip on the lights, it totally jams the FM stations.

I had this problem as well with my JK. I got one of those short rubber antennas of Amazon for cheap and it's worked great ever since.
