LJ internal dimension?

What is the dimension from the tailgate to the front seat with it fully forward?
I would like to build one for camping in and would need to fabricate a sleping platform.
THanks

your kinda puttin the cart b4 the horse here, no?
sorry i'm not sure about the length you looking for. but why the need to fab a bed for something you don't yet have.

you have the bed length, then width between humps, then floor brackets for the seat.
go buy your jeep and if you got $ for a bed after you built it then you'll have your info to fit your rig. rework sucks.

Not sure from back seat to tailgate but from the back of the front seats to the tailgate is 55 inches.

He didn't say he was building the platform BEFORE buying it....

Sounded much more like he was wondering if an lj would work for him...

Op, if you have, or have access to, a tj, the lj is 12" longer..
2 extra inches in front of the back seat and 10 extra inches behind it....

How high off the rear bed do u want it. This obviously will make a difference if u want the platform to be over the front seat when it’s tilted & pulled forward as much as possibly to give u more leg rm on platform.

The platform would be as high as possible to still have enough room to sit up with the top on.
But 55" is a long way from the 74" I need.
Thanks everyone who helped, But if Im going to sleep in the vehicle I guess it has to be a 4 door. I laid down in one at the dealer yesterday and I just barely fit.
I was hoping to get a jeep that had less stuff around me with the doors off and windshield down. I owned a YJ and a Samurai, when you fold the windshield down on those the view is unobstructed for over 200 degrees. Its like riding a motorcycle without a helmet.

With the driver front seat tumbled forward and touching the steering wheel, tape measure going over the top of the back seat, the best you can hope for according to my measurement, is about 72 maybe 73-inch

Sleeping diagonally would stretch the measurement a couple inches...
Building a lounge bed that elevated the head and knees... IE lazy boy would get you comfy... otherwise you either need a longer vehicle or a canvas enclosure that extends legroom out the back of the jeep...

Another fellow recently posted that he was over 6' tall and had been using a hammock in a tj tied diagonally from the cage bars... an lj should be even better for that...

There are a couple of options in this thread...

thanks.
Those JL's are a bit more expensive than the advertisements claim.
I guess I will see if I can find a JL that doesnt consume all my play time with repair time.

This is correct.

The LJ has a 15" longer body than the TJ and a 10" longer wheelbase.

Wish u the best Goat herder. I had the same thought as u. I need it To be 68” (5’8”). I decided it would be too tight. Now I’m looking at the teardrop trailers. I’ll probably get one next yr., too close to Christmas and too many nieces and nephews to buy for.

if your not trying to keep it enclosed, a drop down gate on an LJ could give you that extra room.

If anyone’s going solo you could remove back & front passenger seats and ctr console. From rear of Jeep to front of automatic shifter in “park” the dmensions would aprox = 84” L x 28”W. ” . So u can see this would be plenty of leg room. This is with platform raised at least 1 ft . In order to be on top of wheel wells and also leave alille space for storage underneath. Now, from top of automatic shifter to ceiling per say it would be aprox. 32”. So if u wanted u could work a space to be 84”x 28” x 32” give or take ruff estimate. Remember these are ruff estimates just to show it’s doable. Do not use for building platform.
