Strange Puttering

So this morning I started up my Jeep and it sounded strange like a “puttering” that would increase with the rpms, it wasn’t a tick, knock, or rattle, and it seemed to drive the same no loss of power. When I drove down the street and stopped I shut it off and restarted it and it stopped making that noise. Any idea of what this could be? It’s a 2004, 4.0L Rubicon. I did a tune up about 35,000 miles ago. Thanks

Maybe a slight exhaust manifold leak? Next time keep the engine running and see if the noise stops after it warms slightly.

That's like my 2004. Only happens occasionally and garage couldn't find a leak.

so in other words don’t worry about it? I swear it seems like countless other things that strangely come and go for no reason on these vehicles lol

Mine slightly "chugs" on start up with a cold engine, but it goes away after several seconds. No check engine or codes. A couple of times over the last 3 years on cold days it was very loud for a couple of minutes, like a hole on the exhaust. Since they can't find a leak I'm not worrying about it at this point. Yes, there are random noises, smells, etc. that come and go.
