Once the weather warms up, I am removing my factory carpet to put in this:

Much better solution. Reduces heat and noise.

"Cheapest" and "good quality" are somewhat mutually exclusive. I put in a bedrug up front, and a bedtred out back, and have never looked back. Both have performed excellently, but they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination. Initially, I had a disagreement from my conversation with the Bedrug rep, but Casey Coughlin at SoCal Supertrucks in San Bernardino made it more than right. He's a good guy and deserves your business if you live in SoCal.

Mine has the factory carpet, but I like the idea of that Bedrug. I may look into that this Summer.

Why keep carpet? just gets to dirty and holds water. I do not have a problem with noise. I like my bedliner!

+1 on the BedRug.

Mine is almost 5 years old and still looks as good as it did when I installed it.

The BedRug/BedTred is pretty thick, correct? So you wouldn't or couldn't use a contoured plastic floor mat on top of it?

BedRUG is the thicker stuff, BedTred thinner and I think denser.

Rug is the plusher one. And I still plan on using my WeatherTech knock-offs on top of it. And sounder deadener below.

If you want to stay with factory you could always give Beards a call. That is where I got mine.

If you want to lessen the noise you could put Fatmat down under the carpet. Used it in several of my Porsche's and loved it.

I do like pulling plugs and hosing down without carpets. Much easier to maintain and faster. Mine came without carpet, so I have nothing to compare noise to. I don't have any high expectations for my TJ to be quiet anyway...

There are a lot of options out there and BedRug has been around for a long time, so a lot of people must be happy with them.

I just installed the front Bedrug today. It's pretty decent. Not cheap, but usually decent stuff isn't.

That bedrug stuff looks legit. I wonder if its better than the factory carpet?

There have been a few threads on it.

Basically factory carpet is organic (wool/thread/etc), tends to hold moisture so it molds up if you do not dry it out, and is thin so it does not cut noise/heat very well.

BedRug is made out of poly fibers. It does not retain water. It is thicker and dampens noise/heat.

Bedrug is the fuzzy stuff like will, but it’s poly. Backed by dense thin layer of foam, it insulated and has a very thin stiff cushion to it. Best red is backed by the same stiff foam, but it isn’t carpet. It’s textured vinyl with a pebbled feel to it. Either way, if your floor gets wet under either one, you need to pull up the bedrug or bed tree to let it dry, or the moisture will rust your floor. Left that way too long, it will rust through. Only other bulletproof solution is linex or rhino liner or equivalent.

I am one who likes carpet and uses color coordinated Husky floor liners. Got the ACC Cutpile carpet on Rock Auto. Looks good, fits great. Has the rubber "mass" backing it installs and unistalls quick if needed.

By description:
"Cutpile - 100% first quality Dupont yarn, With Mass Backing - Sound and heat deadener"
