1992 YJ frame issues

New to and excited about the forum. Dilemna is I just picked up a yj with 140k miles, 6cyclinder, 3.5 inch lift with 35 inch tires but has some major body issues, mainly driver side i.e.seat pan and rocker. Also has frame issues near shackles. However, I have the frame patch kit and body panel kit that came with it. Anyone have any thoughts whether to fix or use for parts?

If you have the parts fix it!
If you can post a few pics of the damage, people here would be happy to give advice

Here's the worst of the frame issue.

That frame is pretty bad but I believe the frame repair part is long enough to repair it. The bigger question is what else is lurking in the frame? When I pulled my tub off I realized I needed to replace/repair 3 of the 4 corners, replace the cross brace at the front of the fuel tank, and replace the rear shock mounts and mine was not as visibly bad as yours. If you are going to repair it I suggest you pull the tub before you make any final decisions, once you start it is hard to stop.

Where are you located? There's a YJ frame on Denver Craigslist for $100.00. I don't know if it's a 6cyl or a 4cyl frame.

Good Luck, L.M.

I live in Michigan. That's a steal for a frame though...man. I also found a local guy with a Jeep with a bad engine but he's a 4 cylinder. Maybe that's less work than this whole frame repair deal. Dunno really kinda stumped. Just want a fun off road vehicle for my son and I to go bang around in...thanks for the input so far.
