9 slot grill on a YJ

This is from CL. I really like the look and it seems like just a little bit of sheet metal work would address the fit. It is very compelling -I can't stop looking at it.

Well that's just a CJ grill fitted to a YJ right, you could just buy the grill and fit it rather than make one of your own unless you wanted it to have square headlights I guess.

Omix Ada makes a reproduction grill, for around $215. It is an MB, or military grill rather than a CJ, civillian Jeep. Yeah, the metal work would be to add some metal the the top areas right over the headlights, so the top edges is fat all the way across. Maybe due something about the areas between headlight and edge to get closer fit at the hood. I don't want to change mine out, but if I had another project YJ, or if mine needed front end repairs, I would go this route. I like the wideness of it. Looks mean.

I know this is an old thread but I am posting this here for anybody who might be thinking about doing it. This is what my yj looks like with a 43, 9 slot grill. I have this posted in another thread but feel it should be here. This was a bit of work but it really changed the look of my yj.

I never liked the look of the CJ round headlight splices to a YJ grill because the headlights look way to big. But this looks good i like it!
