You could go bigger but you will have rubbing or worse.

I had a set of 16" Rubicon wheels that a friend gave me from that he took off and stored when he bought his TJ new. I called Tire Rack. They said I could use the 245/75R16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R that were the stock tires, without having to lift the the Jeep. They did fit, but I the larger wheels and tires looked better when installed a 1" shackle lift. Cost me $90 and 2 hours of my Saturday morning.

Hi there!! I am also have some questions regarding a new set of tires that I just installed in my 95 YJ SE (2.5L).

I am not sure if my jeep has been lifted, but I assume is not (i am attaching some photos below, if someone with a trained eye can confirm these, it would be much appreciated).

I installed some 31's (31x10.5R15) and I have some rubbing when I turn. The rubbing is located in the inner part of the tire against the installed sway bar (which I will like to keep it installed).

Should I get a suspension lift to avoid the rubbing?
how high I should go, considering that I do some light off-roading (nothing extreme)?

90 yj tires

You have a lift on that jeep, you can see the transfer case drop pucks(3 on each side) below your door on cross member. You need some wheels with a 3.75” backspacing to eliminate or reduce the rubbing. Can you take a picture up close of your front shackle??? Are those revolver shackles? At least 2.5” maybe 4” lift?

In the future you should start your own thread instead of hijacking someone else's but....

Yes it is already lifted... you have a few options to fix your rubbing.... wheels w less back spacing, hub centric wheel spacers, or simply adjust the steering stops a little.

@DeltaLeader , You are definitely lifted. I would go with a set of quality 1" wheel spacers. I used Rugged Ridge 1" Wheel Spacers. That should solve the rubbing problem.
