91 Islander Question? Help Please

My buddy is about to buy a 91 Wrangler (Islander Edition) and it has a HO 4.0 in it. What can u guys tell me about this engine and its performance. It also has a SOA lift (Spring Over Axle). This is new to me also..... Any good?!?! Thanks for the help guys

I own 3 jeeps with that engine I think they are the best engine jeep ever offered and will last hundreds of thousands of miles if you take care of them 91 was the first year of fuel injection for the Wrangler, engine has good power but not a V8 gas mileage is about
14-20 mpg in my wrangler I don't think you will be dissappointed in the engine long as it was taken care of.
Can't help with the lift but I wouldn't want that type on my jeep I think there bad news, I have a Fabtech lift I like OK

yeah the engine is anvil strong. keep it clean and you'll have to replace everything else before it.

I've owned 4 now with SOA's that I have done and I can tell you that I wouldn't have it any other way. They drive and ride better and if you can weld, cheaper to put on.
