91 jeep yj 4.0l problems

When I start the jeep sometimes she has this high pitched rattling sound and then it goes away and then it randomly comes back does anyone have this problem or have any idea what it could be. Thanks for your time. ▪️|||||||▪️

Belts or bearings on pulleys? Water pump or fan clutch?

Where does the sound emanate from?

Haven't done much looking around but when I'm driving it sounds like it's on the passenger side of the engine.

Easy test is to pull the belt(s) and see if the start up noise goes away... Would discriminate between pulleys/belts and clutch.

At least you could narrow it down...

I have had an idler pulley (dummy pully) go bad on more than one vehicle. Could be low power steering fluid or any of the previous posters ideas.
