91 jeep yj fuel sending unit

I today I dropped my fuel tank to figure out why my fuel gauge always says empty and now that I have it down and the sending unit out it seems to be working how it should but whenever the float is in the empty position the gauge reads full and when I manually pull the float up to the full position the gauge reads full. I'm stuck on what to do to switch it please help. Thanks. ▪️|||||||▪️

Sorry I meant to say at the end that when I pull the float to the full position the gauge reads empty.

Check your Fuel pump ground. Depending on your year its either on the engine block by the main ground (4.0l) or your sending unit is shot. The other ground is located by the emergency brake for the fuel pump but they had a TSB to change it since it caused issues. Also was a TBS for fuel sending unit gaskets. Make sure your replace yours.

Mine was always saying empty but to find out it was bent outside the two metal prongs that prevent it from going too far up/down.

Once I bent mine back put in new fuel pump and cleaned the ground on top of the sending unit mine as been perfect.
