What he means is it seems like many of the JK/JL guys would rather pay someone to do the work rather than do the work themselves.
We YJ guys are usually poor enough that we have to do the work ourselves.
If you ask enough questions here and watch some UTUBE videos you might find enough confidence to try doing the job yourself.
You'll need a decent tool kit and a place to work. Some city dwellers and military members may not have the necessary resources to do the bigger jobs.
Let us know what you plan to do with the Jeep and perhaps someone can head you down a practical and cost effective road.
Judging by the use of the word “who’ll” and the lack of usual sentence structure, I am guessing he is in New York somewhere. With a spelling of Devin and not Devon, It is obvious he is in Dutchess County. The use of “3k” and not $3,000 or $3k would put him in Fishkill.
You just haven't been far enough north.
Obvious to me that it's western Greene County or possibly in the mountains of Schoharie County, not Dutchess County. Taxes are too high in Dutchess County for anyone except Hillary to afford a second vehicle.
Certainly not Brooklyn where they have "terlets".
With 220,000 miles on the ODO no way would I pay $3000 for it. You will dump way to much money into it just fixing stuff before you get to lift it. The resale value of that Jeep will be exceeded very quickly. Save your money and buy something with lower mileage and likely in better condition.
Jon's profile puts him in California too. I'm guessing he moved there from New York.
Hopefully someone in the SD area has a suggestion for an honest shop in that area. Nothing will be cheap. 12b offers a suggestion to think about. If you don't do the work yourself, it'll get real expensive real quick.
Thanks LM, I’ve had some experience with the yj, and just get nervous when it comes to getting another one from the other side of the country, and when I’m used to mine , this ones for my wife to bang around in anyway , I did get it , and my buddy and I are doing the radiator and brakes Friday ! I appreciate your help
Ps I am originally from dutchess county, and I don’t have space to work on my rig out here
