"axles are on top of the springs" that would be a spring under.. my gues 4-5" lift..You can trim the fenders and gain about 1" or so which will help with the tires size. If it still has the stock axles.. that would be my biggest concern.. the rear dana 35 is really not up to running a 35 tire. Post some pics and we can help you.

Here is the calculation to do....

Measure your tires...not 35", the actual measurement. A stock YJ tire was 27" tall.

Measure the height of the rocker panel under the driver's door. (bottom of body)..A stock measurement here is 18". When its on stock tires.

Take your current rocker panel height, and subtract the difference in tire height, and the original stock 18"...this is the lift in inches.

As follows Using mine for an example....

I have 34.5 inch tall tires (35's) stock was 27, difference of 7.5"

My current rocker height is approx. 34" stock was 18, difference of 16"

Minus the difference in tire height from stock...16" minus 7.5" gives me a lift kit of 8.5"

I wouldn't run anything bigger than 33's if it has the Dana 35 rear end. Even then you'll need to be careful with it. I've busted them wide open with 31's & a 4 banger.

The pics will help quite a bit.
