Could say that. I live in a country area, where people like to think they're classy.
many jeeps, but few are taken care of, so when they faulter, they buy new toys and sell them on.

Half doors and needs a soft top. 2500 obo. If he has the hardware for the softop and its.mechanically sound. Would probably offer close to what he's asking. If I need to buy a complete softop, then probably a little less.

Craigslist is loaded with fake ads. I encountered this issue when I was looking for my Jeep. Generally if the description is short, they don't leave a phone #, and the price is too good to be true, it's BS. I'm not sure what the reason behind the bogus ads is tho--to get your email address and spam you?

This is what $3200 will get you in northwest Florida.

Pretty much the cheapest running one I found in my area. It was either this or a samurai.

Well I would post a pic but it said I exceed my quota?!?!?! I've never had this problem before.

I thought the same thing. But when you think about it, its a 91 that doesn't have a roof, spare tire, or radio. When you put all those things together its basically around 3200-3500. Which is the going rate for one in good condition, so.I've noticed. But as mentioned they get snapped up fast.
The ad had a lot of info, and said it had the mentioned missing. I've come across a few scams in my search and none have looked like this.
I appreciate the info, and I guess we will see what happens.

To my huge disappointment it looks like I may have to give up on my search. For 3200 I'm not finding anything that will handle being a DD. At least not within distance. I'll look a little more, but since Monday I have been without a car, and come next Wednesday o absolutely need on. It will be a huge shame to me if one doesn't show up, but hey. Happened when I was 16, and a few more years down the road, I'm sure I can handle it again. Lol.

The 91 post went down on Craigslist on Tuesday. So either it got reported as a scam or they sold it. I'm assuming since I didn't get any reply that it was just sold.

Sounds like you're having some bad luck. I had the same experience with Craigslist.

One guy told me his Jeep was flawless inside and out and once I saw it, I'd know it was "The One". Well I drove 2.5 hrs and the thing was a POS. Both doors were rusted and cracked (who cracks two doors?), the interior looked like a 12 yr old assembled it with a hammer and nails, and the thing had 10K more miles than he had advertised. I knew it was NOT the one.

Another guy promised me I'd get first crack at his Jeep since I called first. 1.5 hours into my trip he called me and told me he sold it. I was screaming to myself the whole was home.

Ultimately I found a great Jeep. Just gotta hang in there and check the ads RELENTLESSLY.

Yeah. Craigslist is fine. I paid $2150 and it only had 96k miles. Fifth gear was blown out from tires too big, but it was still a steal and gave me an excuse to swap in an AX15. Tires were new too! 31" general grabber AT2 tires. Even had a Sony xplode 700 watt amp. Took me about 1-2 months of looking to find it. I could go on and on about all the awesome stuff.

I spent a couple of weeks looking for mine. 3800 it was a steal compared to most Jeeps I was looking at.

looks pretty decent. as long as it runs good & doesnt appear to have any issues, i say go for it. if its one thing i learned over the past few months is that jeeps really retain their value, ESPECIALLY the yj's. this is my second yj. i had a 91 back in the mid 90s & it was alot of fun. i am glad to be back in the jeep community !!

Well, I just withdrew $3200 from my bank. Going to see a man about a '90 with 143k on the jeep. All original drivetrain. Looked at it last night, sounded good, look better. No rust on it at all. Dealership man owned since 95. Having a friend more mechanically inclined look at it with me in about 4 hours. But hopefully in 4 hours I will be a wrangler owner. Will post pics as soon as its mine
