Aero Force scan gauge question

Recently I had my mechanic do an LS conversion on my YJ. Everything went well and we are still working out some bugs. I have a Aeroforce scan gauge and it reads a volt or 2 lower than at the battery. Has anyone experience this? Aeroforce hasn't gotten back to me on this question yet. Everything else seams to read ok. This has my mechanic stumped too. We are using all the original gauges on the dash and the voltage gauge seams to reflect what i'm getting from the scan gauge.

Why didn't I think of that? As soon as the mud freezes here I'll go out to the ford pickup and do just that. Thanks for the great advice.

I mainly just watch ST knock and injector duty cycle. Knock of course, and injectors to make sure they don't clot and lean out or stop effective!! I like being about to see the engine bay at all times.

With my bluetooth code reader I can check ecm voltage and obd port voltage. If they are different, Check your grounds. Weak ground from the body to the engine or battery would easily cause that problem.

Might even try checking for voltage difference between the engine, battery and body. With engine running, take your multi meter, set on DC voltage, put red on engine in a clean shiny spot, put black on negative battery terminal and see if it reads anything. Do the same from body to engine and body to battery. Excellent ground will show 0.0volt, weak or bad ground will show a voltage difference.

gottagofast,
I think the other vehicle must be a chevy gen 3 cause it didn't work on my ford and I had to re set all the stuff on my Power Hungry scan gauge in the ford after reconnecting it. I'll try it on my friends truck.

shorthood,
All grounds seam to be good. What bluetooth code reader are you using?

OBDlink MX with the torque app. I have a voltage (control module) and voltage (OBD Adapter)

My LM7 powered YJ shows close on both (any my pioneer deh80prs headunit also) and factory gauge in the dash.

My temperature is off by approximately 5-7 degrees from the OBD port to the factory gauge

Shorthood,
I'm checking out that OBDlink MX. I also have the LM7 in my YJ. Do you have any photos of your conversion that you'd like to share?

Mine isn't really exciting.
DBW LM7, Novak mounts, YJ LS superior radiator, speed engineering center dumped block huggers
4L60E (with a mid 90s s-10 extension housing) homemade speed sensor and lokar shifter
231C/J hybrid, Novak shifter, Rubicon express sye, standard rear driveshaft with slip joint
8.8 4.10s w/antiwrap bar 1" wheel spacers
Stock YJ fuel pump

I did everything but exhaust and driveshaft. This will be my 4th summer and just over 8k miles on this driveline. This is my first automobile, I've had it since '99.

Shorthood,
Very much like mine. Its in the shop today, they are fixing an oil leak. I'm to old to do the work myself but luckly have the resources to have a local guy do it for me. Mine has the Lokar shifter too and a Novak transfer case shifter. Looks like the same radator as yours. Howell engine harness, dual exhaust even cruse control. I use it as a daily driver so I put 300 plus miles on every week. I'll post photos when I get it back. Thanks for the photos!

Aeroforce got back to me and said the gauge is reading the voltage that is going into the computer. Makes no scene at all. At least they got back to me. Picking up the OBDlink MX today.
