Aftermarket carpet

Looking to update my 91 YJ with after market carpet. Anyone recommendations on which brand/company to use? Reviews are misleading. Cost is always a consideration but quality and fit matter more. Thanks!

I do not have personal experience but have been shopping it myself and everything I have discovered says BedRug is the only answer.

If Bedrug offered a spice or tan option Id go that route in a heartbeat. Since they only offer a dark gray, Im still looking for my best option too.

Im looking for a nice matte black. It would look great with my tan exterior and interior. Tan and Black is beautiful! I'll definitely be watching this thread.

I just ripped out the 25 year old, disgusting carpet of my recently bought 94 YJ Sahara (Tan interior) one month ago.

Because I want to ride the Jeep as much topless as I can during the Summer months, I expect the interior may get dusty, dirty & wer sometimes, so I definetly did not want to Install a new carpet as a magnet dir dirt, moisture and odor...

In the other hand, I am afraid that I might not discover some minor holes with dirt & water inside (leading to undiscovered and continuously growing rust spots someday).

So I considered installing a Bedrug "carpet" as well, but wondered how it might fit to the Tan interior of my YJ.

After having watched this Video on YouTube I was convinced to do so:

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=be8s3CYhxXE

From 1:10 on, you'll see how the tan interior fits to the gray Bedrug.

In my opinion, it looks great because the gray Bedrug somehow points out the Tan dash and seats even more.

If you want to, I'll post some detailed pics of my interior (Bedrug & Sahara Interior) as well tomorrow.

I'm still holding out for spice bedrug, I have called them a couple times in the past.

The more people that ask them about it, the more likely we will see it.

Yeah thatd be great! This video is the first time Ive seen the combo. Id love to see a few more pictures of how it looks with the dash and roll bar (if you have a tan cover). I may be warming to the idea.

Im kind of in this boat too, but Im skeptical. Spice just isnt really an option on recent models and I doubt well see it, but Id love to be wrong. Id definitely prefer spice to black, but the video posted above shows that the black looks pretty good too, so maybe its still an option for me.

I got my carpet from an Ebay vendor for $100 shipped.

Fitment is good, you'll obviously need to trim and cut where it applies but for the most part it looks very nice.

I hated the shitty rhinolining that was done in my jeep and decided to go with a black carpet to mask the interior.

The carpet came with everything even the tailgate carpet mat thing? I think its to go over the tailgate.

I have the black bedrug and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. I really like it. Just the other day I pulled it out to clean grease and oil that I spilled on it. Sprayed it down with some ZEPP degreaser, took my pressure washer to it and it looks like new again.
I CAN tell you from experience that you do not want to get a heat gun any where near it. That stuff melts like butter.

Here you are, some pics of the Bedrug with the Tan interior and green Sahara seats.
I like the Bedrug, the material just feels like carpet on the upside, but can surely withstand much more abuse, especially water & dirt. The parts are easy to pull out, and rust spots underneath can be discovered very early (unlike using bedliner...).

Just the fit of some parts could have been better (especially on the wheel wells and under the front seats) But I will improve this by some cutting within the next weeks.

All in all, I very much prefer the Bedrug over carpeting (spunge for moisture) & bedliner (rust won't be seen underneath).

Since the seat risers, dash bottom, and console bottom are all black it kind of makes sense to have black carpet. I guess I better start saving. My carpet is the only nasty thing I havent upgraded yet and its really bugging me.

Thank you! I like my tan interior very much as well. The brown carpeting looked nice as well Vollreise, but this 25 year old thing almost started to live so I just ripped it out a few days after having bought the YJ.

And because I never want to have a nasty carpet again after this topless summer, I bought the Bedrug which suits the interior really well and will doch its Job.

Did some minor cutting today and will continue the next days for a slightly better fit in the wheel wells.

This is what I used. The quality & fit were excellent. I attached some pics, not sure if you can see them.
