Also known as... The new Harbor Freight line of winches. As with most HF items, I would not trust it for anything more than light duty. Your money would be better spent on a Smittybuilt, or the new Warn VR series winches.

I'm also curious, as I heard the previous winches were pretty good. Not the fastest, but they worked fine.

If they are related to harbor freight I would stay away from it!!!!!!!!!
You get what you pay for. And I learned this lesson the hard way. I had a 3000 lb winch give out on an atv while pulling up a hill and it ran over my friend. complete junk!

The only reason I would get a HF winch is because I could pick up their 12,000 lb winch for about $450, plus I could get a 2 year warranty on top of that for farely cheap. And for how little I'd use it, that'd be perfect for me, plus if something goes wrong, I can easily take it back and get a replacement. Not as easy to do with something you buy online. Plus when I'd need a winch, it wouldn't be a life or death situation, just a mud pit or sand and if you're stuck, no big deal.
