Best place to ground an amp?

I just installed a 10" pioneer sub and an amp in my jeep yesterday. The sound get's muffeled sometimes so I'm thinking that i don't have a good enough ground (I have my back seat out so i took on of the bolts from that and grounded it to the back seat hole). Does anyone have a better spot to ground it to? I just bought some o-ring things for the end of the wire as well.

Most places on the body have worked fine for me on the stereos I have installed. Make sure the contact area is bare metal. You may need to file or sand away the paint. This will help your ground. Also make sure that it is also attached tightly

Make sure you're using an adequate gauge wire as well. Larger is better than smaller.

I dont see why you couldnt use that hole. It is better to sand down the area where your ground will be making contact with the body to get a good connection.
